After the second day, the loneliness presses down into my chest, reminding me that no one was coming to save us. I’d always thought, after my exile, that I would be fine in my solitude, even coming to like it after a bit, but this isn’t solitude. It’s the complete absence of everything, while still having it so close to you.

“Yes.” In the growing darkness I could scarcely make out those terrains I had previously perceived, and relied on memory to give her as honest an answer as I could. Hayes POV: The silence was unbearable. Without her, the walls felt like they were closing in on me. I never thought I’d know what loneliness truly meant.
