My vision was still swimming, but the black and white static began to recede, replaced by a dull, monochromatic grey.
We were on what appeared to be the surface of an enormous, dead celestial body. It was vast, scarred, and ancient, covered in intricate, swirling patterns that looked like long-forgotten script etched by unimaginable forces. This was the cosmic dust cloud, the remnant of an old god. A place where the very concept of hope had been systematically flayed from existence.
