“Ple… please!” The water surged again, dragging me down. My fingers clawed at the bars, slipping. My body was so weak now, so heavy. I felt myself going under again, my chest screaming for air. I reached out blindly in the dark water, hands scraping the gate one last time. “Somebody… ple… se…” My voice faded to nothing. And then… The current yanked me down into the blackness.

Fawn’s POV Air ripped into my lungs like I’d swallowed knives. I jerked upright, hands flying to my chest, half-expecting water to gush out of my mouth as I gulped in air. For one panicked, blinding second, I was back in the bath, drowning. No, not drowning… being murdered as I fought to stay alive. But I hadn’t fought them off; they had been stronger. I could still smell lavender oil for a second before it was gone. Like a snap.

But I had no desire to die; I’m not that tired, not yet. “Of course not, but just remember, Not only will your lungs scream for air as you automatically gulp down water.
