At most, he could scroll through their old chats and feel sad for himself. Sean was not the type to wallow. Sitting on the plane, scrolling through old messages and crying quietly was far beneath someone like him. As a man used to winning, he refused to behave like a loser. Hence, throughout the twenty-three-hour flight to Sunland, Sean kept his eyes closed, resting. He was not a failure or a weakling. He was determined that once he arrived, he would win Eve back and restore their relationship to how it had been.

By the time Zachary stumbled back to his hotel, it was already close to dawn. The coldness in the room was a constant reminder that Selena was no longer with him.
