“Don’t get too used to it,” my wolf replies, always the voice of reason—well, almost always. “True respect is earned through kindness and merit, not just because of a title.”
Karl interrupts my thoughts, asking what I’d like to eat. We both order, and soon we’re sipping coffee, the steam curling up between us. But then, Karl says something that gives me pause.
