I take a deep breath and adjust Zarina on my lap, tucking her head under my chin as I comb my fingers through her hair.
“I’m not always good with words,” I murmur. “Photos have always been an easier way for me to communicate. I can capture a moment so pure, so real, words aren’t even necessary. I used to find inspiration everywhere. Abandoned train tracks, fields of wildflowers, waterfalls, the city at night. If my inspiration dried up, I’d move on to the next village, island, or country. The world is so big and for a long time I felt like there would be endless raw moments to capture.”
