She Left His Pack and Found Her Purpose

She Left His Pack and Found Her Purpose

The salt-fire was a sound before it was a sensation. It didn't crackle like wood: it shrieked with a high-pitched, metallic frequency that made the black glass floor vibrate beneath my feet. The flames were a cold, ghostly violet, devouring the oxygen and leaving behind a thick, suffocating fog that tasted of boiled vinegar and wet copper.

Kiss of Fire

Kiss of Fire

A chill ran through me as I stared at him in disbelief. Seeing the terror in my eyes, Tucker curled his lips into a knowing smile. Panic took over me, every fiber of my being screaming to push him away and run. But my body refused to cooperate. The fire inside me had barely dimmed, leaving my body limp and unresponsive. I grabbed his tie, my attention drawn to the flush creeping over his ears. "Can you take me home?" I asked. Reading my unspoken request, Tucker quietly began to remove my clothes. "Tucker… No…"

Vampire on Fire

Raverine poured gasoline everywhere and grabbed a box of light matches. "Let's go," Raverine instructed and waited for Ember to realize that the store is now filled with gasoline. Ember scrunched up her nose after sniffing the store. “Cover your nose, please. I poured gas all over the place. I don’t want you to inhale it so let’s leave.” “What the—”

Love's Inferno: When Fire Meets Ice

Love's Inferno: When Fire Meets Ice

It was like a spark had been lit within her, and she couldn't help but let it burn. The heat intensified, becoming almost unbearable, a weightless feeling that left her floating somewhere between reality and a dream. As her hands wandered, her senses heightened. Every inch of skin felt like it was on fire, every breath drawn in was suffused with a heady scent that she couldn't quite place. It was as if all her senses were working overtime, but she didn't want it to stop. She wanted to savor it, to soak it all in.

The writing was good. Interesting twists in the story. However, I got irritated when Doris was being immature. Love how 8 years old Nora and 4 years old Max acted and spoke mature. Hated that the transition between events was not always smooth and the wrong gender was used often. Nice, happy ending.

Scorched

Scorched

She smiled. The heat here reminded her of her summer in Johannesburg, she thought of the cool water at the beaches she had visited and suddenly became thirsty. She ran her wet tongue over her parched lips and wished it would suddenly rain but then she groaned at the thought, it never rained in the desert. She rolled her head and jumped in frustration, upsetting the sand beneath her feet, sending dust particles up in the air.

Fire & Vice: Savage Vendetta

Fire & Vice: Savage Vendetta

She was tough as nails. He tracked her to the door of the bunker. She was doing everything she could to get it open. Of course it wouldn't open without a code. It would be a piss poor prison if it did. Realizing her predicament, Jane swung around and watched warily as Vlad approached. She held a small chip of porcelain in her fist and raised it threateningly. Her eyes looked wild, like those of a trapped animal. She must have found a way to break a chip off the toilet in the cell. He was impressed with her ingenuity. He'd had some truly bad men in there before and none had thought to use the toilet as a weapon once the obvious pieces had been removed.

the bodyguard's secret

the bodyguard's secret

It didn’t vaporize; it *ignited*. Purple flame, cold and malevolent, erupted from the stove’s mouth, engulfing the skillet, Leo’s hands, and Dominic’s arm up to the elbow. It burned with an eerie, silent intensity, consuming flesh and metal alike. The smell wasn’t smoke; it was ozone and charred meat and something deeply, biologically wrong.

Return Of The Hybrid Queen

Return Of The Hybrid Queen

"I already held a ceremony to appease your ghost. I promise to tell all my kids and grandchildren about you okay? You don't have to take my life!” Ivan rolled his eyes when he heard this. His father was thoroughly pathetic, if he could just cross the fire, he would reveal himself. He grits his teeth and began controlling the fire, making it surround Rakel. The fire wasn't actually burning anything. After practising for days with Xavier, he's able to control flames without burning anyone. Since Rakel thinks he's a ghost, he decided to play along. “Walk through the flames and my spirit shall be appeased.” he bit his lips to keep from laughing.

How can I read Book 2 without having to reread Book 1 and paying for it cause that wouldn’t be fair seeing that book is on another app and I read that this book would be on here. Now I see three book and nowhere for me to start on the second one and continue on?

Burn

Burn

He pick up the call. Hunter doesn't know what his friend heard, because his now furious friend cursed and stuffed his phone inside his pocket. "We have to go now. The house is on fire." "What?!" Hunter's voice came out as a whisper. 'The house' was the place where they keep their all weapons and documents. He gritted his teeth before standing up and stomping out of there, followed by Kaiden. __________________ "Don't you have anything to say to me?" Arjun asked after his staring contest with his best friend.

Hidden Fire in the Snow

His body was charred by the fire. I pulled him into my arms. "Lucas! Look at me! We won!" I began to shake him. Lucas slowly opened his eyes. His irises were now a pale grey. He grabbed my hand. "Sophia... the gas... if it mixes with the air, everyone will die... you... you have to seal it..." "How?" I panted.
