Our love to hide
The room was heavy with emotion.
Then his name was called.
He stepped into the light, heart pounding.
"Hi. I’m Ethan Rivera," he began, voice trembling slightly. "And I’m here because I fell in love with someone I wasn’t supposed to."
Silence.
He exhaled. "He’s my stepfather. And that makes a lot of people uncomfortable. But what I want to talk about isn’t the shock. I want to talk about what it means to be seen."
Ethan told them about growing up feeling invisible. About how Nathan never looked at him with shame, only clarity. About how love had come not in fire or lust, but in quiet moments shared glances, late-night talks, and the feeling of being understood for the first time.
