The Human King took out a little drum and pounded hard on its face. The little drum shone like a diamond as it rumbled, and the air quivered. Boom! That shattered the purplish-gold beam fired by Chu Xun's halberd and the sonic waves came crashing like tidal waves. Sonic wave attacks?! It was the sort of attack that Chu Xun would always find cumbersome for it deals damage directly to one's soul. The sonic waves came like an unstoppable tide, falling down trees and tearing them into chips and flakes with terrifying efficacy.

Before I could land a blow, two of the mercenaries stepped into my path, before raising heavy, metallic cylinders. Suddenly... a high-frequency sonic blast ripped through the air, vibrating at a pitch designed specifically to disrupt an Alpha’s nervous system. I staggered with my head exploding in blinding pain as the runic silver chains wrapped around my torso like living serpents, burning deep into my flesh.

He jammed his finger down on the emitter’s trigger. A wave of invisible, crushing pressure slammed into the room. Cattleya screamed, her ears ringing with the sound of a thousand glass panes shattering at once. The vampires didn't die; they shrieked in agony, their bodies convulsing, their skin blistering and turning to ash where the sonic waves hit them. The room became a kaleidoscope of chaos”shattered relics, dust, pulverized stone, and the desperate, thrashing forms of the undead.

Bellamy whimpered as he sliced through the last symbol. With the patch of skin removed, Bellamy snapped his fingers again and crystal decanter containing a blue liquid appeared in his hand. He slowly poured the liquid over the wound on Lissa’s chest making the skin underneath sizzle as tendrils of smoke rose from the wound. Her ear-piercing screams rang throughout the room again. Bellamy hissed as the liquid splashed up, burning his hands, leaving behind bright red blisters. Once the decanter was emptied, he placed his glowing hands over the place where the branding had been and began to mumble an incantation.

Every electronic device in the room sparked and died. The hunters closest to me were thrown backwards by the force of the sound. They hit walls and furniture and lay there stunned or unconscious. Marcus had his hands over his ears and was staring at me with shock and something that might have been fear. I kept screaming until the power was exhausted and my voice gave out. Then I ran for the door, leaping over fallen hunters and dodging the ones who were still trying to recover from the sonic blast.
