When I took a step towards him, he stood from his sofa and came towards me, giving me a questioning stare. “What are you…” I didn’t let him finish his sentence. I extended my hands to give him the bouquet. “What the” he gritted which left me shocked. “W-why are you giving me the black roses?” “What do you mean by that? Last time, I couldn’t deliver your bouquet but you didn’t say anything so I thought I should give you one…” He looked at me from top to toe as if he was doubting me for something. “If you don’t mind, let me tell you something,” I spoke. “Black roses are not a good option…”

‘Hey why are you walking like the dead ones’? ‘The dead ones?’ ivory asked with question marks all over her face ‘what are those, are they zombies’. ‘I don’t know what zom…be is but the dead ones are an army of dead people created by dark witches five hundred years ago, the dead walks pretty slow but one scratch from them and you’re one of them too’ Natasha explained. ‘Definitely zombies’ ivory murmured. ‘So why are you walking like the dead ones’ Natasha asked. ‘Would you join my team, I’m creating a team with whom I would go to Buklime Mountain with to go gather some herbs and more importantly the ice lotus for merit points’

Let’s get you inside before you catch a cold.” I nod, following her through the door. The walkway is just like I remember, on each side are prize winning roses. Of different colors. Huh? When do black roses exist? I took a small detour from following Alexis, bending over a patch of those strange black roses.

Trisha’s P.O.V I walked out of the room with my father, Lucas and Rose following behind us, but they separated from us as we neared the altar. The music was light and the entire hall was filled with the scent of fragrant flowers. White roses were used as decoration, but within the purity of the white, I spotted the dark velvet petals of the black roses. However, behind the altar, there was a humongous garland made completely of black roses and it was just magnificent.

“They are the Black Rose, a group of exceptionally skilled hybrid assassins. They usually work in the underworld,” Stephan explained. I narrowed my eyes, recognizing the name Black Rose. They were half warlocks and half wolves, not associated with any packs. “They have agreed?” I asked, scrutinizing each of them. Despite their exceptional skills, they appeared like normal individuals. “Yes, it’s because we both have the same goal,” Stephan stated. “Same goal?” I inquired. “The bloodsuckers,” the dark man in the middle replied, his golden eyes contrasting sharply with his dark skin. So, they were also against the vampires.

Red, purple, blue - every colored rose except black, but the saddest part was black would have been the most fitting. Sniffles and tears of pale bodies covered in black overwhelmed me with sadness. Bony branches of dead winter trees served as umbrellas to our snow covered heads. The winters wind blew, chilling my bones. You could see other head stones in the distance, representing other people's sniffles and tears.

Krister asked, looking at his tablet still before walking to the back room. “Black? She doesn’t-- I mean didn’t wear anything else?” she asked, her eyebrows meeting in the middle confused. “Don’t tell me she’s one of those people…” “Yes, specifically black clothing. They’re hot in the day but you disappear in the night. That’s what she always said to me.” Krister disappeared in the back to get something whilst Rojean was left there to contemplate on her own how she was going to pull the act off if she was a bad liar herself.
