she repeated the lines with a pleasant touch of the chords and tears rolled down her eyes. She used to hear the song in worship and it always touched her heart when she remembered His promise. The Lord will be always with her, as said in Isaiah 43:2-3; "When you pass through the waters, I'll be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you, for I am the Lord our God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."

~Avia I stare out at the crowd of people, hating the way they stare back at me. Isaiah stands at the front of the stage with his father, addressing the crowd. Something about a new development involving some disputed land. I suppose it's no longer disputed, which can only mean one thing...Isaiah or his father sent orders to their people to bust through the land and destroy everything there and displace the occupants in order to build other things that suit them.

I read the verse aloud as my heartbeat was beating faster than I thought was possible. I felt an awful urge to throw up my dinner, and the dark presence didn't help me to calm down. However, as I repeated the bible verse three more times, the voice stopped. I was able to release a deep sigh as my body began to relax.
