Useless. Selene’s soft whispers continued. “It’s all a dream… nothing is real…” Darkness behind my eyelids. A knot of frustration, guilt - tightening, sharp as a blade turned inward. Then it clicked. “It’s all a dream,” I whispered. “And nothing is real… and its my dream which means I can control everything.” It struck me suddenly, sharp as a spark in the dark. This place didn’t follow real life rules. Mana never ran out here. Rules only existed if the dream decided so. Having escaped my own nightmare, another person's fear could not hold me now.
