Bonnie furrowed her eyebrows. "You do realize I am blind, right? I literally don't know what 'this' is supposed to be. John sighed and grabbed Bonnie's hand, placing the cane in her hand. "It's a white cane." He said. "Lorenzo thought you might need it." Bonnie nodded. "Thank you." She whispered. John bid his goodbye and walked out the room.

She turned towards Claire who was also busy just like the other students, drooling over Mr grumpy. "So he is the " London Malik" huh?" She retorted. "Shocking right? I intentionally skipped the part of him being the most handsome dude on the planet, I wanted it to be a huge surprise," Claire replied not sparing her a glance, her eyes were glued to the glamorous figure standing at the podium. "You know, this is not my first time of seeing him but it always feels like it, geez, how can someone be this cute," she squealed sheepishly.

I had paid him well in advance to make sure the video played all the way through. One by one, the photos appeared on screen. Every single one showed Jasper and Fiona living it up abroad. Then, the final few slides hit. They were hospital consent forms for emergency surgery and an amniotic fluid embolism report, and on every document, the signature line for next of kin was blank. The last image was a photo of me, drenched in blood, lying on a stretcher as I was rushed into emergency surgery. The montage ended with a written statement that was over a thousand words long. He was already boiling inside of him. Four of them were now sitting and eating their food in a way that seemed a bit sorrowful. Matthew Clay and Zion Murphy remained quiet throughout the meal. The silence was only broken at intervals when Chris would ask Jason if his back hurts or if he should help him get more water and food from the counter. Chris did not care if Jason found it annoying, he just wanted to make sure his friend was fine.

I grab my journal to write it down, to connect the threads before they fade— But then my mind blanks. The pen hovers over the page. I can’t remember what I wanted to write. Not a single word. Fuck.
