It was hard to get into the heart of the pack. But he was mere hours away from Frost Moon Pack's main territory when he got a call from Luca, his Beta. “I just heard from the scouts. William was spotted outside the pack house of Frost Moon Pack.” Luca informed him. Jace was in his motel, eating a dry sandwich that he'd bought from a store. He tossed it on the table, standing to his feet at the news. “When?” He was already going to grab his things and his keys. “Early afternoon. He was with a woman.” Luca supplied.

“Come with me, and I will show you the truth.” Jace tensed. “Like hell she will.” The shadows surged. In an instant, they lashed out, striking toward Jace and Damon with unnatural speed. Jace barely had time to shift before the tendrils wrapped around his legs, yanking him backward. Damon swung his blade, slicing through the darkness, but the shadows only reformed, tightening their grip. Elena’s heart pounded. “Stop!” The figure turned back to her. “Then come.” The power inside her roared, clawing to be unleashed. For one terrifying second, she almost did.

There was also Janina, Hesthes, and even more. We had plenty of power on our side, but we could not become complacent. That would only lead to our demise. Dad, Gabriel, and I were Shadow Wielders. Scarlett and Mom both had Moon Fire. Ace was showing some affinity with the shadows, but he did not have full command yet. That would come when his wolf did.
