The creature brushed past Matt and seemed to take a keen interest on Jake. “Gabriel!” Gabriel tossed the book at Jake, distracting the creature for a moment as it turned to his direction, growling at him. Jake grabbed the book which he noted was glowing again and lifted it before him, towards the creature. The glowing intensified, shining bright light on the creature until it became visible to the others.

Jack directed his fireball ahead of them into a large cavern ahead. Dozens of black glittering eyes peered back at them from one large spider beast. Lexi sucked in a breath. The beast watched the fireball wiz towards it. As it came in range, it lashed its large hairy leg, knocking it askew. The fireball went whirling to the side. Jack regained control and swerved the fireball past the spider into the cavern. The spider turned and followed it. Jack sped it up and the spider lunged after it, its shadow engulfed the view.

Jack sat back on the bar stool. His eyes were big. He ran his hands through his brown hair. Did he hear Mr. Gibson correctly? He was Henry Kingsley? No! He was Jack. He's always been Jack.
