Zayn's POV: As I walked towards the basketball court with my teammates, my eyes searched for my parents first and I saw them sitting at the front roll. Mom waved at me and I smiled a little. My eyes slanted across the court, ignoring the people screaming my name. As I glanced around the court, my eyes came in contact with hers; Elsa Jameson. She waved at me and I winked at her then waved my hands at everyone else before walking further inside the court.

he whispered huskily into my ears, I looked up at him and wiped the tears. " he is a gang leader aswell, a big gang, like biggg" I muttered my voice barely audible. Instantly his soft look hardened, gripping my chin a little more he pulled me closer. I could see a look of urgency take over. I turn back to Lucius finding his gaze already on me; cold, hard, calculating. “And how is it that you know James and Zack?” he states more than asks. When I make a move to reply he turns his head to the boys as if waiting for an answer. Zack turns to me as if asking... permission? Huh. Who knew he wanted my opinion? I nod gently encouraging him to answer, “We attend the same high school, but we aren’t umm... acquainted?” he says dubiously, almost unsure.

A forlorn look on his face from his eyes "I'd never hear the end of it." A ringing noise met my ears and Jaden's shot to his pocket after looking at the screen,he grinned triumphantly '"It's my Dad." My heart skipped a beat,his plan had worked out so quickly? that was crazy? "Hi Dad" Jaden greeted as he swiped to answer the call. "Oh you saw" he gave me a thumbs up "Yes she is a girl I am seeing,her name is Isabella." I stood silently wondering what his Dad was saying,Judging by the expression he was saying exactly what Jaden expected of him to say.

His little hands relax. When they pull apart, he turns and sprints into Dad’s arms like it’s the most natural thing in the world. “My name’s James,” he says proudly, puffing up his chest. Dad smiles, all warmth and pride. “My name’s Drake. But if you like, you can call me Dad.” James nods, wide-eyed. “I call you Dad. I always wanted a dad.” Drake’s eyes soften, and his arms tighten around the boy. “Well, you’ve got one now, James.”

His guilt and worry added another weight to my already heavy heart. “I’m sure he appreciates your beauty,” Dad said quietly. I kissed Dad’s cheek, and he reluctantly moved away to make room for Jaxon ’s parents. I’d never talked to them and had only seen them from afar at a couple of social functions. Mr. Moretti shared Jaxon ’s dark blue eyes, but his were clouded and his impressive size was diminished by the fact that he supported his weight on a cane. Xavier leaned against the trunk of a tree in the garden and stared at the screen which had been black. His eyes were brooding, and he was lost in thought. James stood at the entrance of the garden and stared at Xavier for a long time before he walked toward him. "Why don't you go in?" "Why are you here?" They spoke at the same time. Both of them smiled upon hearing this. James walked over and stood side by side with Xavier as if there was really no misunderstanding or estrangement between them before. It seemed that they were back to nine years ago. Xavier was James's elder brother and they could play together and share everything.

“Never mind, I’ll figure this out soon enough.” I nod because I trust him, which is not easy for me to do. “Now you have no more avoidance tactics; why are you running from your mate?” I shrug my shoulders. “I have a lot going on right now.” “Yes, you do. But I’m here now, Melinda; you don’t need to shoulder everything. Besides, you could do much worse than Jai.” I sigh. “I don’t know anything about him, Adam.” Adam smiles. “Jai is the second son of Alpha Leander and Luna Sara, making him my second cousin. Jai is a homebody and also a master horseman. He’s kind yet strong and dominant when he needs to be due to his Beta status.

He cocks his head to the side as if he is trying to get a read on me. James, on the other hand, smiles at me brightly. His blonde hair is tousled messily on top of his head. He stretches out his hand for me to shake. “It is nice to meet you,” James says cheerfully. “We don’t get to see Keena or Faris as often as we would like.” It is clear that James is the playful mate between the two of Lyra’s mates. I place my hand in James and he shakes it vigorously. I cannot stop the small smile that tugs at the corners of my lips.
