Fifteen minutes into the movie and Jack had completely abandoned it and turned his attention on Lisa. He pulled the finger out, spreading the wetness around. Jackson screamed, instantly awake. He threw the spider aside and sat up with a jolt. The spider hit a nearby rock and quickly scurried away.

I rolled to the side, my heart racing. “Spread out!” Jake ordered. We obeyed, fanning out to surround the creature. Sophie’s arrows struck its side, but they barely seemed to faze it. Althea sent a bolt of magic at its head, and it screeched in pain, but it wasn’t enough to slow it down. “Keep its attention on me!” Jake shouted, shifting into his wolf form again. He darted around the spider, snapping at its legs and drawing its ire. I took advantage of the distraction, climbing onto one of its massive legs. The surface was slick with some kind of ichor, and I nearly lost my grip.

When I got to my office, I panicked. I sat down on my office chair and saw a spider walked towards a notebook on my table. I grabbed the notebook quickly and bravely slammed the notebook over the spider. The spider decimated which created a gross goggly look on my table. I grabbed a tissue and wiped the spider with it and dismissed it into a garbage can. By the time I was done, I sat back down and contemplated how Alpha Nate's wound seemed to have healed overnight. It was crazy. Alpha Nate's POV

"A wolf. In the basement, there was a wolf. I passed out when he bit me on the shoulder. After that, I don't recall anything." He nodded and said, "There was, indeed, a wolf in the basement. He attacked you to assist me in saving your life. My blood was insufficient. You have to get bitten by the wolf as well. We were scared you'd die regardless since you were so far gone." I was still perplexed. What was the point of being bitten by a wolf? Surprisingly, my shoulder didn't ache at all. Shouldn't it also be healing? "Why? I'm not sure I understand. Why did being attack by a wolf save my life?"

Lily asked within her. Before she could think further, suddenly, Lily’s body crashed straightway into the unforgiving ground. Panic seized her heart as she realized one of her hind legs was trapped by something jagged, its sharp contours digging into her flesh. Grimacing with both pain and fear, she quickly pushed herself up and turning her head backward, she found Jake, his maw caught her around her lupine right leg.
