You said you won’t her!” Lambert’s eyes flashed with anger. “Watch me.” In a swift motion, Lambert drew a knife from his belt and pressed it against Laurel’s throat. “Say goodbye to your mate, Earl. I’m going to end this prophecy right now.” “No!” Earl shouted, his heart hammering in his chest. “Don’t do this, Lambert. Killing her won’t save you. It will only seal your fate.” Lambert’s hand trembled slightly, but his resolve hardened. “I’m not afraid of fate. I make my own destiny.”
