Her rainbow eyes revealed mischief but she exhaled in relief and took a look at the remaining green bottle in her hand before whispering some words and materializing. Jane took an evening bath and got herself ready to meet her mysterious husband. She had received a call from Mister Paul earlier reminding her not to be late. She took a cab and went to Old Madam Ryan's mansion. It seemed like everyone around was already aware of her new status as she was being referred to as Young Madam. She got to the sitting room and met the Matriarch seated on a huge chair with a magazine in her hands. She was flipping the pages when she noticed Jane walking in timidly. She beamed at her.

She asked Pearl. Pearl started to say Bukowski but Rhys had ruined that for her. She thought about it and she remembered as a young girl the novel that truly changed her life. "Jane Eyre." She said. "The Brontës. It was Mr. Rochester that truly ruined me. A man and his ghosts. And a woman strong enough to love him despite them." She said. Erik looked at her. It took everything he had to stop himself from telling her right there and then she owned his heart.

She clasped her hands behind her back, fixed her eyes somewhere on the ceiling, and let loose her usual torrent of words. "I read a wonderful book called, Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Brontë. It was written in 1847, but the characters in the book are so real that you feel as if they're living today. When I read this book, I felt as if I were Jane Eyre, a lonely, friendless orphan girl sent away to a cold, cruel boarding school where all the other girls despise her."

“ ‘Her coming was my hope each day, Her parting was my pain; The chance that did her steps delay Was ice in every vein.’” Happy Valentine’s Day, My Rebellious Heiress Oh. Oh no. Sebastian did indeed get me a Valentine’s Day gift, after all. I smile wistfully at the Jane Eyre quote and remove the top of the box. Whatever was inside, they had wrapped in a layer of silk that I peel back; then my heart explodes with what lay inside. It was a first-edition set of Jane Eyre!

Asher says and Dani nods. “Oh, so do I. Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books. There was another famous sister, Anne. I read her book The Tenant Of Wildfell Hall. I liked it okay, but I much prefer Jane Eyre. A lot of what happened in that book is reflections of what actually happened to Charlotte in real life.” Dani tells him. He just looks down at her and she blushes. “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to fan girl over them. I know most people find it boring when I go on about stuff like this.” Dani does not want to bore him or make him think that she is some kind of nerd.
