I managed to fight the sleep but it caught me when I least expected it. Even with it, I got no peace. I couldn’t tell for how short or how long this nightmarish sleep had caught me until loud bangs on the door got me jumping off the bed. It continued and somehow it seemed like the knocks of many. Adrenaline taunted me. My legs became weak and my body began to sweat even with the AC in the room. Then it dawned on me.

Rose jolted awake and almost fell off the bed when she heard loud noises and more precisely gun shots echoing everywhere. She didn't know when sleep had fully taken control over her but right now her heart was going to burst right out of her chest. She was beyond terrified and clutched the sheets closer to herself and she gulped. The gun shots were becoming more relentless and it was in the middle of the night.

I held the note close and curled myself into a ball on the bed. I woke with a jolt to a loud banging on the front door. I felt a brief wave of panic rush through me. I sat up hesitantly and looked at the clock. I felt disoriented and dazed from sleep. It was 1 in the afternoon. The bang sounded again through the house. The echo rattled through the walls.

I sat up suddenly with a jolt. My breathing was heavy and my forehead was almost dripping of sweat. My heart felt like it was going to burst through my chest as I took a few deep breaths. I looked around my pitch black room letting my eyes adjust to the darkness for a moment.

I looked around for a while, but when nothing interesting caught my eye, I relaxed into the chair and closed my eyes. The moment I opened my eyes, I found myself inside a car and panic shot through me as I jolted upright in an instant. “You're awake?” I heard him say and my heart slowly returned to normal when I saw that I was in Lucas' car. “What happened? How did I even fall asleep?” I asked in confusion as I glanced out the window to see that it was nearly dark already. “You must have been very tired. The doctor did say that you'll get tired easily because your heart is working more than it should. You should rest, I'll take care of you.” He replied and my heart warmed up at his words as
