I couldn’t. Every instinct in my body screamed at me to turn back, to not do this. To stay far, far away from the monster I was running straight toward. But I had no choice. Jason’s shallow breathing haunted me, the sickly pale hue of his skin, the fever burning beneath it. He was getting worse. And no one in the pack would save him. No one but him. Damien Thorne. The name alone sent a chill through me. A creature neither fully wolf nor fully vampire, but something far worse—a hybrid.

I saw his neck, Hannah did it, she injected him with the cure. He cried out of great pain and all the zombies felt it, all of them! He fell down on the floor. Every infected person also fell down, unconscious. “Son, I’m very sorry for all I caused,” He said amidst great pain. “I only wanted to create something that’d forever help human beings, I wanted to make people able to live longer, to be able to survive without eating for months, to be able to live without falling sick, but I failed. I’m sorry Jason, I really am,” He said and gave up the ghost.

“I’m telling you, this would crush on Prime. Add some post-production explosions, bam….instant hit.” His security detail rolled their eyes. Most of them were ex-Marines. None of them were actors. As Jason took a swig of electrolyte water and high-fived a makeup artist, he heard a thud from the second floor. Then a scream. Jason tightened the strap of his tactical vest. “That scream didn’t sound fake,” he muttered, already heading toward the noise. His assistant called after him, “Jason! That’s not part of the….” “Relax,” Jason waved without looking back. “Probably one of the extras being dramatic.”

Otherwise, don’t expect Jason to return alive. Since I was reborn, I did not rush to reply. Instead, I calmly tapped my fingers on the table and watched them perform their little act. Sure enough, a video call came through after a couple of minutes. I answered it without hesitation. Jason’s agonized screams sounded from the other end. “Clara! I’m in so much pain! I just came to Melvaris for a business meeting on your behalf. I never thought they’d trick me into the industrial zone!

Desperate gasps escaped my lips as I fought against his suffocating hold. "Let me go," I pleaded, my voice barely a whisper amidst the chaos. "You are going to regret this," he said, his threat hanging heavy in the air, chilling me to the bone. With a final shove, he released me, leaving me trembling and gasping for air on the cold floor as I watched him exit the room. Fear gripped me as I realized the danger I was in. I fumbled for my phone, my fingers shaking as I tried to reach out for help, but Vivian's line remained ominously silent. Locking myself in the room, I spent the night in a state of paralyzing terror and fear, haunted by the specter of what Jason was capable of.

“I suppose you’re still holding on to hope that your precious Wayne will come to your rescue.” Kaylar met his gaze, refusing to give in to the fear creeping up her spine. “Hope is a powerful thing, Jason,” she replied, her voice steady. “And you’ve underestimated it.” Jason’s smirk widened. “Hope won’t save you tonight. Only power and control can do that, and you’re sorely lacking in both.” He turned away from her, motioning for his men to secure the room. They moved swiftly, setting up a perimeter and checking their weapons. Jason was meticulous, ensuring every detail was in place. He believed he had won, that there was no way out for Kaylar.

Jared yelled, gripping his shoulder tightly and pulling him away from him. It was an effort and I could feel him being pulled away, but Jason was strong; too strong for only him to handle on his own. The moment Jason pounced back on me, I took the slight opportunity to look up at his face. I felt my mouth dry up in fear at the animalistic and feral look in his eyes. He looked like a crazed man, unable to keep his hunger at bay. My stomach gurgled with a sinking sense of dread that overpowered the rest of the things I was feeling at the moment.

He nodded at Zee approving it. After a while Callum was calm enough not to shiver and panic. "Now. How about some juice"? Saint came into the room with another glass and this time he drank it silently. "Callum ". He saw Stephen sitting beside him with Enzo slipping out of the bed. They all settled giving Stephen the margin to hold him. And support them both. "What you saw was not a nightmare though how I wish it to be. This is the reason why I was against it in the first place to have a Human here in the den of Non Humans. Or Vampires as you call us.

I know I wouldn't live to see tomorrow if I tried. Jason tears Gordon's torso open and empties it for the cowering crowd. Then his tilts his head towards the sky and roars. He steps back away from the mutilated flesh that was once Gordon. He looks as if he just got done taking a blood bath. No part of Jason is free of blood. His hair is dripping with it. His body slowly shifts back to his normal size. And his eyes scan the pack. JASON POV
