I said as I gave him a peck on his cheek. Immediately, he stopped crying and raised his head to gaze at me. I smiled and wiped his tears. "Mom, when are you buying it for me?" he asked. I was silent for a moment as I thought of what to tell him. I remembered that I was going out later in the day to buy underwear for myself and Alpha Vicker. The shop I was going to also sells toys. I decided to buy Jason the toy today. "I will be going out later in the day. I will buy the toy today, okay?" I said.

, Jason said as he and his mother left the store. Anna wondered what she was going to do with the toys but then she remembered Jolene. She wasn't quite sure she was into big toys but they had to work for now. She could see the men leaving the store by the back of her eyes and hoped they hadn't caught her face. The last thing she needed was trouble and all she wanted was something to be done swiftly. She knew Vanessa and Jason's schedule. She knew his teachers and the friends he played with. She knew what foods he loved he was a book she had been reading for a week and she was ready to pounce any time.

But I could tell that she wasn’t happy about something, but I can’t tell since I really don’t know. Jason continued to play with his toy as he laid back on the bed, and then he suddenly looked up at me with an innocent yet curious expression on his face. “Uncle Daniel,” he said. “D…do you have more toys like this in your house?” I smiled. “Of course, I have other toys that you will like.” Jason’s eyes sparkled. He paused for a while, then he looked up, and met my gaze and said, "Is it okay for me to come to your house to come and see them?" he said it as if what he just said didn't change the atmosphere in the room.

Maybe the party I was planning for Jason would make her calm down and talk to me. “Continue the preparations, out with more effort. Have you invited the kids from Jason's class? Is the cake ready? What about his present?" I wasn't doing a very good job at hiding the fact that I was freaking out. If Zayne noticed it, he didn't say anything. “You don't have to worry, Boss. I've got everything ready." I sighed in relief, hoping that things would go according to plan, because I wanted Jason to be happy. Would do absolutely anything for my family, for their smiles. Later that day, I went with Zayne to get the last of Jason's gift l, which was a toy car, which he insisted we got in white.

"That's my girl! We'll make this the best afternoon ever." *** When we stepped in inside the arcade, a dozen of lights were flashing, machines beeping, and some kids were yelling in victory. Jason darted ahead like an overgrown child while pulling me toward the claw machines. "Okay, pumpkin," he said with exaggerated seriousness. “Today, I shall win you the biggest, fluffiest stuffed toy in this place." I laughed, while covering my mouth. "You? Win? Jason, you're the kind of person who loses on purpose just to blame the machine."

Jason frowned, then turned to the man who seemed to be talking seriously to his employees. "Are there any buyers yet?" he asked. "You can ask him directly. I don't think he'll hesitate to give you information if you want to buy it. I'm sure you'll be able to build this business better than that guy." Jason got up and approached the man who had finished with some of his employees. He then motioned for the man to talk for a moment. Jason had originally intended to keep his identity as the son of the successful businessman who founded Kennel'z Industry hidden. However, it was impossible for the man not to recognize Jason.

Jason cussed as he stared at all the bath bombs. "I'm not doing this," Jason said and walked off. "I'll be back." He added and disappeared, leaving his father in the isle. Minutes later, Jason appeared with someone who works there. "Here's a list. From each item, give me one of every option if that makes sense." Jason handed him the list. "I'll give you one thousand dollars when you're done." Jason and his father went to the front of the store and waited for the worker to finish. About forty minutes later, he approached them with six bags full of things he bought for Maya.

Crystal stood near the window, trying to pretend she wasn’t listening, but her fingers were shaking as she folded the same corner of the curtain over and over. And Jason kept talking, so innocently, and so trusting. It made something vicious rise in me. He opened his gifts one by one, and each time he gasped like the world had handed him magic. A teddy bear bigger than him? He shrieked. The superhero lunchbox? He hugged me. The remote-controlled car? He said, “I’ve never had anything like this before!” And God… the glint in his eyes... I wanted to shut down an entire mall and tell him to pick everything.

I often wondered if she secretly hoped for Jason and me to get married someday, but I never dared to ask her. Since Jason joined the company, he had been doing wonders. His fresh ideas had attracted some serious clients, bringing life into Pixel Forge Studios. Over the past few weeks, our company had become a source of joy for children and youth, especially in the gaming world. A corner of Jason's lips lifted before sadly turning to his father. "Dad, thank you for keeping my things then. But I'm not a kid anymore to be interested in such stuff. Just give it to Felix, and he seems to like these collections." Felix was shocked. Jason looked at him like he was a crying baby.
