I patted his little head and ruffled his hair a little. I dropped my bag and provided a granola bar which I handed over to him. "Thank you,” he said full of smiles. I smiled back in return and nodded twice. "I'm Wayne,” Black dude said and extended his hand for a shake. "I'm Richard,” said taking his hand, “Richard Williams of the United States Special Forces at your service" I added military like, standing at attention. The golden flecks in his eyes swirled, making them brighten and flash dangerously. Towards the left of the stage stood Zeke, his arms crossed in front of him, a crucial ally for our pack and a trusted friend. Asher’s Beta stood to the right, a quiet man who saw much more than the rest of us. He peered out into the crowd; his face neutral beneath the harsh stage lights.

“Well Stacy, my so called one and only wife, isn’t really my wife, courtesy of Sophia, your so called mother in law” I look up at him my knees buckling beneath me. “You’re kidding right?” I ask him, better to be safe than sorry, before I spill my secrets let me be guarded. “Well we know what we know Steve, and it’s nice you’re still fighting tooth and nails to keep your secret safe” I nod my head hastily. “I see you’re very uncomfortable, so why don’t I take my leave now” Jasper stands up to leave, making sure to tap me on the shoulder before opening the door.

He lies back on the hard stone, his knees raised, and clasps his hands behind his head. He stares up at the emblem carved into the stone arch that supports the ceiling. The door creaks open. “I thought I heard you walking around.” Jack’s low voice rumbles around the small chapel as he strolls toward him. Blake’s second in command drops onto one of the pews at the front, stretching his legs out and crossing them at the ankles. “Trouble sleeping?”

"You can screw off, Father. I'm not taking the position as the next Lycan King." Then, Steven tried to leave. "Where are you going?" Lycan King Xavier asked in a calm voice. "I'm finding my mate." "I have her." Steven stopped when the King told him. Damon immediately grabbed my wrist as we walked towards them. Steven froze in his place. We locked our gaze. His heated stare made my skin shiver. I could feel my hair stand on its tip while looking into Steven's hazel-green eyes. He made me feel complete. I wanted to hug him, to tell him and whisper those words that could calm down his system, to apologize to him, and to tell him that I've already forgiven him.

Even so, it wasn’t the time for conflict over ego and hurt feelings. “What makes you think that they’ll help me?” he asked. “Us,” Ben corrected him. “Help us. I’ve got more at stake now. It’s not just Lila for me.” “Us, then,” Jasper snipped. “The only exposure I’ve had to them was when I was attacked in the alley. That doesn’t exactly make us comrades.”
