Frustrated, I kicked my legs on the bed, feeling the pent-up anger surge through me. "You are never a bother. Call me whenever, you know that." I heard a voice declare lovingly, full of concern and adoration. My heart plunged, recognising the voice and hearing those words. As he got closer, I could hear him on the phone, his deep voice murmuring words that sent a chill down my spine. He was talking to a woman, calling her "sweetpea." Jealousy flared in my chest, hot and bitter. Despite my better judgement, I found myself on my feet and at the door, listening intently.

Frustration welled up inside her as she questioned Axel's loyalty and commitment. "What's wrong with this loser... Can't he see how much I'm trying?" Her inner thoughts seethed with anger and resentment. "Still, he's running behind her... bloody slut." The bitterness of her inner dialogue reflected the depth of Jennie's jealousy and insecurity, Jennie's jealousy and determination reached a boiling point, she resolved to take drastic measures to ensure Axel's permanent commitment to her. The silence hung thick in the air. Narsha's lips curved into a faint, almost invisible smile. It wasn't warm. It was something else entirely—a mixture of pity and dry amusement. She asked herself if she was the only one who didn't know that today was World Jealousy Day. If that were the case, it would explain why Dexter and Mira were obsessed with using that word. But why use it against her? “Jealous?” Narsha’s voice was soft, but there was a hint of mockery. “Sir, why do you think I’m jealous?”

Damn it, what did I say? “Seems like you’re the one who sounds jealous here.” His baritone voice breaks the silence before he turns his back. What an assh*le. “I’m not jealous! You freak!” “Hey! We’re not yet done talking Achilles!” I growled. If someone could see us and watch our small drama here, they’ll think that we’re having some lover’s quarrels. “Let’s go home Jada, aren’t you tired yet?” He lazily asked without even bothering to put his gaze on me.

This is getting too hot for me to watch. Whoever said Jealousy is a bitch is so right. Jealousy is really a bitch that would fuck up your mind and rile up your whole body.

It left me clean and shaky and angrier than before. Jealousy is hunger with a smart mouth. It tells me to bite my way back to his attention. It tells me to walk into his war room and put my throat in his hand and remind him I am the promise that bleeds the same. It tells me to get loud. He hates when I get loud when the pack can hear; it makes him a man instead of a myth and he hates being the only man in front of those who need him to be weather.

He turned his head and looked back at her, showing her his frown but she gave a light smile and mouthed him a sorry. When his frown didn't change, she made a puppy face and a smile crept onto his face. He could never resist her puppy face. Seeing the smile on his face, Jade gave a satisfied grin and turned her attention to her phone. Shawn grunted and faced forward. He turned on the radio and leaned back on his chair. From time to time, he would glance at Jade through the rearview mirror and see her still on her phone. Each time, his brows would crease and his lips would pout as he felt jealous of the attention she gave to her phone instead of him.

She put her lips in a pout. "You should not let terrible friends influence you. Justine is a really hot guy," I paused to swallow the lump that had grown in my throat. "And basically every girl wants him. You know better than everyone that you are really lucky. Who knows how many of your friends want your relationship to end because they are jealous of you?" Caramel was blind to these sort of things. Anyone who had him to claim and thought they wanted to lose that bond, was definitely crazy.

Her voice rose, becoming a high, strained shriek that echoed through the quiet corridor. “You want to know the truth, Hunter? The real truth that I’ve hidden for years? I hate her! I hate her for surviving, for always being stronger, for always being the one everyone looked at, the one everyone loved! I hate her for making me feel like I was never enough, always second best, always in her damn shadow!” Her voice broke on the last word, the raw, unfiltered jealousy of a lifetime spilling out, ugly and undeniable. “And I hate you—because even now, even after everything you and I shared, even after all I gave up—I can see it in your eyes.”
