The druid was trying to carefully hook another creature but this time the creature knew enough to fight back against the roots that were trying to trap them. That’s why Jeff felt the pain. The creature attacking him had hit its mark and filthy claws scored a hit across his chest and racked deep gashes just above his stomach. He’d live and it let him all but tear out the creature’s throat causing it to drop with its head lolling to the side at an angle that was far from natural. "You wouldn't kill your own father, Jeffery." I froze, my heart pounding. He decided to reach into his jacket and pull out a small hidden knife. Panic set in as "Jeffery!" Cassie screamed. Instinct. I tightened my fingers around his wrist, twisting it brutally. The knife landed harmlessly on the ground. Through rage and exhaustion, I struck him on the jaw with my fist and knocked him out cold beneath me.

The safehouse bathroom mirror showed three faces where there should only be one. The clone—Phoenix, as Naz had started calling her—leaned against the doorframe, her luminous veins pulsing faintly under the dim light. Jeff stood behind me, his reflection's eyes locked on hers with barely concealed distrust. The knife wound on my cheek from our last firefight stung as I pressed a bandage to it. Phoenix tilted her head. "You're bleeding." "So observant," Jeff muttered, tossing me a fresh gauze pack. I caught it one-handed. "Play nice."

Jeff asked. Fred played with a knife in his hand. "Oh, nothing much, just a little something. But you'd better behave yourself, or this knife in my hand might lose its manners. If anyone calls you and asks anything, you better answer that you don't know. If you dare slip up, be careful about your life." "Okay... okay..." Jeff, despite being a burly man standing at six-foot-three, couldn't do much against so many people. They outnumbered him, and he noticed a bulge around Fred's waist that looked like a gun. He didn't dare make any sudden moves.

He couldn't accept being humiliated by this mafia boss. Jeff was satisfied with Cylo. He continued to dodge this sweet man's attacks, blocking them several times. However, Cylo's attacks became increasingly reckless, making it impossible for him to keep dodging. Finally, Jeff blocked Cylo's right hand, which was holding the knife, causing it to slip, and then he punched the sweet man in the stomach. “Arrggghh!” Cylo screamed while holding his stomach. “Oh, sorry.” Jeff immediately panicked and unconsciously approached him. He felt guilty for hitting Cylo too hard. Moreover, he knew that this sweet man had also been slightly injured in a fight with his men earlier.

Jaxon dropped from the second-story mezzanine like a massive, predatory shadow. He didn't use a firearm. He landed directly on the squad leader, the sheer kinetic force of his heavily muscled frame driving the mercenary face-first into the marble with a sickening crunch. Before the other five men could even pivot their rifles, Jaxon drove his combat knife up through the ballistic gap under the second man's jaw, a dark, volatile grin painted across his face in the crimson light. "Welcome to the penthouse, boys!" Jaxon roared, ripping the blade free and using the falling body as a human shield against a frantic burst of suppressed gunfire.

I gasp out, my eyes soaking up his deteriorating condition, his paling skin. “I’m going to be fine, they just need to stop the bleeding…” “And surgery will do that!” The Head of Emergency seethes out against Dad’s alpha command. “Bleeding, what bleeding?” Surely they’ve already stemmed the flow of blood already. “He was stabbed with a silver blade.” Jaxon growls almost in my ear. “No!” I felt it myself, the moment he fell. But with the hunter holding a gun to me, I didn’t stop to think it was silver. But how could it be anything else.

Then I panic once I realize his next action but I’m too late. Before I can do anything, he sends the knife sailing through the air toward his brother. I whirl to face Jefferson as I watch the knife embed into his chest. He hisses at the pain as he looks at Morbius with pure hatred. They exchange no words as they stare at each other. I shake my head after letting it swivel between them both and I walk over to Jefferson.

I try to find her she was no where to be seen then I also became invisible trying to find her, I could see her shadow running towards the room. I followed her then she came out with a silver knife. She threw it , Jeff saw her and quickly jump to defend me. it pierc d straight into Jeff's heart, I came out of my shadows and screamed NO! tears dripped down my face. " Jeff, you can't do this to me,stay with me? I knew this was going to happen that is why I never wanted you to come" I said weeping. " You are a survivor, I have lived too much.
