Looking back at Zoey under us she starts to try and get up, taking a step to the side and looking over to the right where Jessie is fighting off two rogues by herself. Zoey is up on her feet and I start to head over and help Jessie when she mind links me. "don't you dare come here! They are mine!" she says and I chuckle at her. "Alright! If you say so!" seeing her rip the throat out from one of them I just sigh. That's just like her. Turning around the two rogues who held the girl shift and start running to the forest with the rest of them. Leaving us with some unconscious and some dead once.

Jess said with a low voice. She saw how happy Rosa was. Rosa is only twenty-five years old. She is still young, but her behavior is like an old lady who had experienced a lot of things in this world. Jess is glad that she is able to bring Rosa here. Jess is the youngest among her three siblings, the others are male. She once had a tantrum with her parents for not giving her a young sister. She always feels jealous whenever she saw her friend had younger siblings. Meeting and get to know Rosa, she couldn’t help but wanted Rosa to be her younger sister!

He’s so hot!” I smacked her arm as a strange jealousy coursed through my body. “Shut up. He’s mine.” Jess pulled my leg all the time she was there, making me push her out. “Bye, I’ll see you tomorrow.” “I hope he has some hot friends coming over to support him. I could hook up with one. Maddie looked between them and shook her head with a groan. “Doesn’t it bother you that she only flirted with you initially to get you to back out of the fight?” She asked, eyeing Erik. He was absolutely smitten with Jess, always watching her and hovering nearby like he couldn't bare to be far from her side. Jess was just as bad, constantly cooing about him to Maddie. It had been nonstop since they found each other at the weapons trial. “Not at all.” He rumbled, gaze not moving from Jess’. “I thank the Moon Goddess that our names were drawn together. It was fate.” He rumbled the word with a nod.

Later that night, after everything had quieted down, Jess cornered Eloise in their room, arms folded, one brow raised in that knowing way only best friends could manage. “So…” Jess started, plopping onto the bed beside her, “Are you two a thing now?” Eloise froze, fingers nervously fidgeting with the hem of her shirt. “Well… it’s… not really. Umm… it’s complicated.” Jess snorted, giving her a playful shove. “Complicated how? Because I’m pretty sure I walked in on something very uncomplicated earlier.” Eloise groaned, covering her face. “Jess!” Jess laughed, tugging her hands away. “Hey, no shame. Honestly, I’ve been waiting for this tension between you two to explode for months.”

"I'm sorry, they're usually mild mannered." Jessie brushes it off as she starts to get emotional. She hugs the other woman and tears fill my eyes. "Come in, she's been emotional. I'll fill you in once she calms down," I say quietly and let Jessie and the other woman sit in our big chair. "I'm Elliott, Jessie's wife." "I'm Jennifer and my wife Kelly, Kelly worked with Jessie during her residency," Jennifer says with a light smile, shaking my hand. "Hey, kids. What do you say we move the movie to the children's playroom and the adults can talk," I ask with a smile and they all cheer.

Mariah was doing most of the talking, her hands flying like she was telling some dramatic story, while Jessa stayed quieter, scanning the field like she was preparing for battle. And maybe she was. My chest tightened as I caught the faintest glimpse of nerves on her face before she smoothed them over with this determined little lift of her chin. God, she was brave. More than anyone here gave her credit for — including me. Jackson stepped forward, intercepting them halfway. “What are you doing here?” he asked, his voice firm but not quite angry. Protective, like always. Jessa’s lips tightened. “What does it look like, Jackson? I came to hang out. It’s a bonfire, not a closed practice.”

Jess asked, still eyeing Ronnie. “Mom!” Jonathan shouted at her, making Jess flinch. With everything going on, it was hard to be in the right mind space and have a mental hold on things, especially for Jess. She was as much involved with this whole ordeal as Jonathan and Arina. Jess lost her husband, her friends, and now the only family she has left are in the middle of a dangerous battle. This whole thing was hard on her and none of them blamed her for having these feelings and trust issues.
