Justin asks, still watching Brooke’s computer screen over her shoulder. “That’s what we need to find out,” Brooke replies simply, spinning in her chair to face the monitor that Carly turned on. Right as I glance up at it, the video chat connects, a girl appearing on the screen. She looks to be a few years older than me, with the prettiest dark eyes, caramel skintone and light brown curls. She’s a dead ringer for Zendaya- I’m immediately struck by how stunning she is. “Hey, Astrid,” Brooke greets, wheeling her desk chair a little closer as the rest of us hang back.

They are both deceased, and I was never told about having a twin or another relative," she replied, deepening my confusion. The case was becoming more complex with each passing second. I looked at Gabby, she held my hands and smiled, helping me regain composure.

You classless whore!” Jessica spat. “Jessica!” Few of the team members exclaimed.

She stood at the bottom of the stairs in a white cotton dress, her hair flowing and her skin radiant. I opened my mouth and stepped down the stairs. “You are stunning,” I said, my eyes flickering over her. She stepped forward and put her hands on my chest, “I can’t believe how much you’ve grown. You look like an Alpha.”

He walked beside her with a kind of attentiveness that was the opposite with me—like he belonged at her side. Bianca…? Before I could process, another shove caught meoff guard. Jessica sneered. “Gods, will you move out of the way! You’re just a wolfless, you wouldn’t dare talk to Bianca!” I narrowed my eyes, my patience thinning. Jessica turned her attention to Bianca, already angling herself to bask in reflected glory. “Are you the female alpha of the royal pack…?” The others surged forward, eager to hear the answer, elbowing past me like I didn’t exist.
