Rebirth Of A Broken Luna
Everything I was, everything I had fought for, everything I had hoped to become, it all meant nothing in the face of watching my mate fall.
"No!" The scream tore from somewhere deep in my soul, ancient and broken and utterly helpless.
I caught her before she hit the ground, gathering her into my arms as blood spread across her chest in a horrifying bloom of red. "Jessie, no. No, no, no."
"I am okay," she whispered, trying to smile even as blood bubbled at her lips. "I am okay."
But she was not. The silver bullet had hit her directly in the chest, and I could smell the poison spreading through her system. I could see the light beginning to fade from her beautiful eyes.
