She said, her eyes bloodshot red, and she rose from the couch to leave. While I’m here hiding out of fear from his father, he’s there enjoying his life. The reason why I’m experiencing all these changes is him. My strength, my senses, my instincts—everything. I opened my eyes. “If Jessa is still out there… what happens now?” Dad’s expression turned grim. “We don’t know. She disappeared after the curse was cast. But if she learns that you’ve broken it…”
