"You know very well what you’ve done,” the scarred lycan said with his voice cold and menacing. “You stole our family heirloom and killed our leader, and you’ll pay the price for your crime." Arthur shook his head, his voice calm but firm. "I didn't do it," he said. "We have nothing to do with your family heirloom or your leader's death."

I felt sorry for myself, and, somehow, that made me feel even more pathetic and worthless. Valen How could you do this to me? Blaze roared in my head. I winced and put a hand to my temple.
