I hadn’t even gone downstairs much since my recovery began, mainly because Ryker was insistent that it could strain my side. After Lucy left, I headed straight for the bathroom to freshen up for the day. I stood in front of the mirror, hesitant at first, but eventually, I gave in to the urge to look at the remnants of my injury. Both wounds had healed, but they were now deep, angry scars on my skin. I could feel a knot tighten in my stomach as I ran my fingers over them, knowing full well that only silver could leave such marks on a wolf. The scars would probably never fade completely, and that was a constant reminder of just how close I had come to losing everything. I hated it.

Scars stared at the pillow in front of him. “Are you in pain?” she said. “Do you need something? Should I get a doctor?” “No, baby,” he said, and suddenly, it was Scars again, and she almost sagged in relief. “I’m not in pain.” “OK so…” She stroked his face. “You OK? All things considered?” “Well. I mean, I’m obviously devastated about the fresh scars ending my promising modelling career,” Scars said. “But I’ll get past it. Somehow.”

I gently put down the crust I had been nibbling on before turning to focus on Tristan and Theo as they both stared at me. “They sting a little bit and they have started to throb a little, it’s not unbearable. I’ve had worse so compared to that its nothing.” My finger gingerly went to the scar that curved across my face, clearing my throat I picked up the crust and finished the last of my sandwich.

Tears stained his cheeks. “Yes, it’s me. Please, I know you hated my people but know that I have nothing to do with them. They tried to kill me too. I tried to save Asher and Zara but they dragged me away. They tortured me.” He held out his arm that has an ugly burned scar around it. Eve’s gazed soften.

Skyla's hand fled to her chest when she had a glimpse of his fully naked upper body. His body was badly bruised and had scars all over it! Skyla exclaimed, "I thought one deep scar might be responsible for all of this…" With that she lifted her eyes to gape at his blood covering the ground before getting back her gaze at his chest and then his abs. She continued in her mind, "But there are scars all over his body! It's impossible for me to conceal all of them! This doesn't look like an animal attack! I don't see any person would have done this much harm to me after all he seems strong enough to face whatever comes his way!" Skyla's eyes got teary and her heart got heavy on seeing the amount

Jocelyn’s POV The scars that lined Xavier’s back were the hardest. It seemed like his skin had been torn apart. The mental scars these scars left on him ran so deep I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to heal him. “Athena, I need your help.” I whispered to her. “Jos, they run deep. If we take them, they will not only scar us mentally as well, but it will be physical.” She whispered as well. She was crying from the pain Xavier had suffered.

I couldn’t fathom how anyone else would think any different, but this time when I roam his features, his scars were gone. Darting up from his body, one hand slapped across my mouth, the other tracing the deep scar that should have been going through his eye down to his throat. The tough skin, marred with red and purple, was now gone. His chest was completely clean, not a speck of once ripped skin.

I had to praise myself because there was no one else that would do it, Jenny was the last person that would complement anyone. I looked perfect except for one thing, a long scar on my left cheek that stretched across my chin. I placed a finger on it and traced it down. It still hurt, it was a fresh wound I had gotten only the previous day, how I got it was still a traumatizing and horrific thought. "You're still sore over that injury?" Jenny asked. "I thought you would have gotten used to Miss Lenny’s foul temper by now." She said and everything that happened the previous day flooded into my head.

I gasped as I grunted and coughed. I kept begging him out of fear of what he might do but he just scoffed with disgust. "What a rat" he said and everyone laughed. "I, Lucas Culkin, reject you, Kieran Franklin as my mate" he said and surprised gasps erupted from the crowd. I screamed from the pain I felt in my chest as our mate bond broke and my wolf howled in my head as well. I gripped my chest from the pain I felt as he stared at me with that same disgust and kicked me in my ribs again.

Noticing my dazed expression, Jack came over and chuckled, "What are you thinking about?" "Nothing." I gathered my thoughts, hurriedly shook my head, and answered his earlier question, "I'm feeling much better, not as painful as yesterday." "That's good." He placed a bag on the coffee table, "I got some scar cream for you from the hospital. Your injuries are quite serious. Although they're not on your face, they still can't be neglected. You’ll still need to prevent yourself from getting scarred." Perhaps knowing the situation, I felt a bit guilty and very grateful, and I was particularly obedient, "Okay, I'll use it when I change the bandages tonight. There’s no rush"
