she smiled at the assembly of children that looked way to weary to smile back. First, she brought in a bowl of a variety of fruits. First, ripe-looking apples unapologetically mingling with the pears and bananas that courted each other side by side. Then another tray, but unlike the one before it that proudly showcased an okay-looking turkey, this one had bowls of ice-cream, yoghurt and one glass of a chocolate milkshake, flattering the kids at first glance. Lastly, she brought in a cooler of what definitely was the main course. The aroma of perfectly cooked Jollof rice was so persistent, you could almost tell it’s taste through its appeal to your nose.

"Yes, it is. We have deep-fried chicken, chicken soup, deep-fried plantain, boiled pork, ramen, a special Nigerian dish—jollof rice, meatballs, and rice. Everything is here, Darren. Everything." "Can't wait to try this," Lucas said, rubbing his palms together. They all sat down, with Claire in the middle. Lucas took a sip of the fruit juice. He ate the boiled pork and made a disgusting face. He ran to the kitchen to quickly spit it out. "What's wrong, Darren?" Claire asked, confused. "I knew this was too good to be true," Darren said, shaking his head, leaning on the kitchen sink. "What do you mean? I spent hours trying to perfect this."

Zach asked as Susan and Krista laughed along with Mariatu, who was opening a bottle of white wine, and Jaaja. "We just want to make sure that you do not lack for power," Jaaja replied, smiling. "What is this?" Susan asked when the oysters were finished and the platters cleared, replaced by bowls of fragrant food. "This is jollof rice, known as benachin in the Wolof language. It is made with rice, onion, tomato, and red pepper and seasoned with nutmeg, ginger root, and cumin. Normally is also has Scotch bonnet peppers and chili peppers, but I left them out so that you'd better enjoy it. It is normally a very spicy dish, even by our standards," Jaaja explained. "Chili peppers also give a man p

I muttered to them as they turned and left. "So, Honourable chef Mirabelle, which one are you starting with?" "Let's start with the Ghana." I said, scooping a spoonful of rice and shoving it straight into my mouth. "Hm," I nodded my head. "This is so good, like damn," I nodded in approval again as I took another spoonful of the rice into my mouth. "I love this." "Does it mean you're okay with just the Ghana Jollof?"

James said mocking me, earning him a smack at the back of his head from Aisha. "Thanks B." I said to Aisha. " I got you this." Nuel said as he handed me a plastic bag that contained a plate of Jollof rice and chicken along with fried plantains. I loved plantains whether fried, roasted, boiled, sauced, I was good to go. I thanked him and dug in immediately. "Hmm." I moaned as the flavours burst on my tongue. This jollof rice was the bomb. I immediately attacked the plantains.

Mated To The Blood Alpha

Mated To The Blood Alpha

The heavenly aroma of rice hit me, making the worms in my stomach roar in hunger. It was a little embarrassing, but who cares? It wasn't just rice, it was Nigerian jollof rice, specially made by Jade. No one makes jollof rice better than her in the whole Pack. "Oh, dear," Jade and Madam Dora shook their heads as they watched me salivate as I stared at the food. I couldn't wait to descend on it. "I made one of your favourites," Jade said. When it came to Nigerian foods, especially the food made by Yoruba tribes, nothing could stand it, not even the pastries that Selene brought earlier.

The alpha's broken slave

The alpha's broken slave

I told her, touching the plate of food as my stomach growled in hunger and I smiled shyly. “Come on, eat.” Lana said, pushing the food closer to me. I uncovered the lid to reveal a food I had never seen before and Lana chuckled before pointing at it. “This is Jollof Rice, it’s a Nigerian dish and Isabel wanted us to try it. Her dad’s Nigerian and he prepares it for her.” Lana said. “You know she’s adopted right? She had an older brother who works in Ares' company but he isn’t. Her father, Dr Kunle the pack doctor, lost his mate a few years ago, a few years after they adopted Isabel.” Lana chuckled.

this book is amazing and soo moving I cried several times during alora's flashbacks of abuse.the part when she finds the piano in the forest only to find out that her mother eventually breaks it was just heart wrenching! I dread how she is about to be hurt by the alpha faking his love to fool elders
