The owner, a wise old man with a gentle smile, welcomed us as if he had been expecting our arrival. As we peruse the shelves, our eyes landed on a worn, leather-bound journal that seemed to call out to us. Intrigued, we opened it to find a collection of handwritten stories, each one filled with magic, adventure, and the triumph of the human spirit. The journal spoke of forgotten legends, hidden treasures, and ancient prophecies.

I can also do that to know the history of JBC Publishing, but I'd rather leave that place and stay somewhere more comfortable. I scanned each bookshelf to check where I can get books about the company. There are many kinds of books here. It's divided into different categories. The first one is engineering textbooks. The second is accounting. There's business, management and the last one is all about writing and publications. At least I know where I should go next time. At the corner end, there's a small corner where the logo of the company is painted. Below that is a table with different books. The one on top says, JBC and It's Beginnings". Fictions. Biography. Horror. Newspapers. Politics. He was the man. He was good.

My hands were firmly clasped at my back, because Goddess knew I didn't want to do anything to damage these books. Many were precious tomes, originals of books I had heard of, history books and several more were journals of past Alphas I had never ever known existed. My mood continued to brighten as I pictured what it must be like to read each and every one of these books. I wasn't a bookworm, truly I wasn't, but the one thing I had learnt was that study was important to prove excellence. And that alone made me look at these tomes and books and journals as resources. If I was going to get a leg up in the world, these sorts of items were invaluable.

I had just started scanning the spines when something caught my eye—a section of seemingly journals tucked along the far side of the shelf, bound in cracked leather, each one labeled with a date. I traced my fingers along their worn spines, pulling out the most recently dated volume.
