Zach and Meg screamed unanimously at the top of their voices when they saw the figure standing watching them. It felt like a horror movie where a scary ghost or doll is revealed in the blink of an eye. It gets scary when there is a little awareness of the figure, at least, one would expect something. But it gets more scary when you don't expect something and boom, you see it. Unprepared, unimagined. Maybe, vice versa. Either way, your spinal cord will freeze and the hairs in one's hair will immediately sprout followed by formation of goose bumps. That was exactly the same way Zach and Meg felt when saw Kristien.

Her entire body did a jerky little half‑jump in her seat, heart slamming against her ribs like it was trying to make a break for the exit. Corvin’s hand was on her arm in an instant, steady and warm. “You okay?” he asked, fighting a smile. “Yes,” she hissed, cheeks hot. “Betrayed. But okay.” A few people snickered quietly in the rows behind them, the collective relieved laughter that always followed a good jump scare. Onscreen, the trailer continued its parade of horrors. Willa’s pulse took longer to settle than she’d like. “So,” Corvin murmured, once the worst of her full‑body flinch had passed, “you faced death worlds and you’re scared of *that*?”

A haunted house actually, and the ghost apparition would make me shout and hug Reaper. At first, it was normal, I was reacting from the fear of the movie, only Zane didn't find it the least funny, or scary. When a jump scare scene came up, I shouted and swirled my hands around Reaper's hard neck, I felt him tense as a loud groan sounded at the other end of the room. I felt strong large arms around me as I looked up to find Zane picking me up from the couch from where I was nestled on Reaper's strong body.

Shrike buzzed in delight. He lifted the sleeves of his shirt and shot me a wicked smile before turning a lever. The lever was vertically attached to a wheel, and when he started rolling the wheel, there seemed to be a little resistance and grinding. After a few seconds, the contraption hummed. He turned it faster, and soon, an electrical current passed through my feet and travelled up my body. My limbs tensed and spasmed from the shock. It felt like my nerves were being fried from the inside. My teeth clenched on the wooden stick. I would have bitten my tongue off if it had not been there.

A terrifying jumpscare flashes with a deafening sound effect. "Ah!" Pure reflex kicks in. Her internal GPS locks onto the safest place in the room, and she buries her face deep into Elias's chest, hiding like a frightened turtle. Above her, a deep, rumbling laugh vibrates through his chest, tickling her ear. "And here I thought you weren't scared of these things," Elias purrs. "I'm not! But I wasn't ready for a sneak attack!" she mutters against his shirt, the gruesome image still looping relentlessly in her brain.

Grayson was surprised, but he decided to ignore the warning and continued staring at Belle's phone. Suddenly, a horrifying jump scare appeared from the screen, startling him to the point of almost throwing the phone away. The animated image depicted a ghost with bleeding eyes, nose, and mouth, its terrifying gaze seemingly targeting those attempting to access Belle's phone. Gathering his composure, Grayson scrolled down, encountering more eerie images before reaching a password-protected lock screen. Despite trying various passwords, none proved correct.

Zariyah's eyes rolled to them. They ignored what Zariyah said and calmed down again after the scary part disappeared. "I hate the jump scares." Fauzia heard Lumiere whisper who was sitting next to her. “What’s the name of the movie?” she asked her. "The conjuring," Lumiere replied and jumped in shock when something scary appeared on the screen again. Fauzia didn’t flinch when she watched the movie, Shanoa was calm while Zariyah was not interested because she’s on her phone while the three ladies keep on screaming as if death was near them.

She must have known that today was the day he was going to be discharged–one thing that Georgia was trying to seal away from her mind, in fear that she might bend onto what she was standing by, only to end up actually seeing him. As Georgia was about to pass by the 10 o’clock cafe, she ended up stepping on the brake unprecedentedly when a person suddenly ran toward the road. Georgia held her breath as her eyes widened in fear. She calmed herself first and then sensed her surroundings. Slowly, she moved her head to the right side and her heart almost burst out of her chest when she saw a familiar man glued to the windowshield, with his empty eyes widened and a creepy smile on his face. “What

I whispered to myself, the hair on my neck standing frigidly as goosebumps caressed my exposed arms. This wasn't Dennis, whatever I was watching contort and snarl like the spawn of hades wasn't a werewolf at all! I tried to scurry back through the narrow space and then the walls seemed like they had suddenly grown closer. “Shit, shit, shit on a fucking pogo stick!” I swore and then let out the most blood-curdling scream ever when the creature turned its yellowed eyes to me sharply, the rows of jagged brown teeth seemed to bend from one side of its bald head to the other side before it sniffed the air loudly and I forced myself to scurry back.

I was mindlessly heading for the mountain. I turn around and start limping back the way I came. Dragging heavy clothes, a heavy body, and a heavier, sore ankle, I freeze as the bushes part before me, and a black silhouette jumps out and scares me half to death. Speedy, large, and crashing through in a frantic manner that disrupts everything around it. I audibly gasp and trip, knowing I don’t even have a dagger this time, and I'm too exhausted to run. It seems to be scanning around itself, in dark foreboding presence, before sensing me and spinning on its heel to face my way. I flinch, backward tripping and getting ready to run, when I'm stopped mid-escape with a sudden, clear view of what it
