I met Vicente's eyes. "But death? Death isn't justice. It's just... final. And I won't be responsible for that."

I had no choice but to call Christopher, but he did not take my call. Doug was licking my palm. He did not want to die, so I must save him. I called Nathaniel, and fortunately he was able to make it. He drove me and Doug to the pet hospital, and luckily, we managed to save Doug. An unknown number texted me. 'Is that dumb mutt dead? Oh, Chris and I are at a class reunion.' That number deleted the text right away. That bitch. She was the one who intentionally fed Doug chocolate. And I thought Christopher only spared me because his conscience came knocking. No. He only left because Yvonne asked him to.

Less than ten minutes later, it began to foam at the mouth, convulsed, and collapsed. The courtroom erupted, and the livestream chat exploded. [That's insane! Jack saw me and did not even seem surprised. He frowned a little, looking at me like I was something on the bottom of his shoe. "You followed me all the way here? You sure don't give up. But I'm not here to play games with you today. I'm here to defend Yvonne's brother in court." It felt like my whole body was being ripped apart, and a huge weight crushed my chest so much that I could not breathe. "Do you even know who you're helping? He's a killer! He's the one who took our daughter from us!"

"I just want to make sure that they didn't die in vain. I want to make sure that justice is served." Sergio placed a hand on Jake's shoulder, his playful smirk replaced with a serious expression. "And we will make sure of that," he said firmly. "We'll stand together and make sure that Alpha Draxler pays for all the pain he's caused." Jake nodded in agreement, a determined glint in his eyes. "Damn right," he said, his voice resolute. "We won't rest until we get justice for all the lives he's ruined." I felt a sense of exhaustion creeping over me. "Sergio," I said, my voice a little weary, "I'm feeling a bit tired and full. Thank you for the meal, it was nice, and I'm really grateful."

"That is justice for me," he simply said. "I am guilty, I would say."
