I then feel how sweaty is his hand. He is scared too, but he is still trying to comfort and protect me. I need to be courageous too. I can't make him feel more down. "E-Ethan." Eren finally pronounces, meeting the eyes of the taller man with curly dirty dark hair. His eyes then move to the other bald one. "Evan." "And Elias." He says lastly to the man with a lizard haircut.

“Insurance.” The hangar shook again. Julian’s aim didn’t falter. “Then you’ll die with it.” Cassian laughed. “That’s the thing, brother. If I die, you die too.” He stepped closer. “The serum in your body? It’s connected to me. A tethered genome. A failsafe. My heart stops yours follows.” Julian paled. “You’re lying.” Alma’s eyes widened. “Is that true?” Cassian slowly removed his jacket, unbuttoned his shirt, and revealed a glowing disc implanted in his chest, bioluminescent veins spidering out from it.

His voice booms across the clearing, silence falls. “This is Eira, and her son Kael,” Cassian says. “They’ll be staying with us.” I search the familiar and unfamiliar faces for any recognition, but find none. I’m not surprised though. If Cassian, my own mate, couldn’t recognize me…the pack wouldn’t. After all, I was the runt of the pack, the brunt of their jokes. Lysandra steps towards us, and I fight the urge to step back. She narrows her eyes at me, my heart pounding.

“I gave him no chance to rise again.” Elias paused. He didn't understand what his boss meant but he trusted him completely. He nodded once and a rare smile crossed his lips. Nothing more needed. … Back on the rooftop, Cassian’s men were still unconscious beside him. He wanted to leave, but his car wouldn't start. He slammed his fists on the steering, frustrated and enraged. He crawled out of the car with his phone trembling in his hand as he leaned his back on the tires, panting and sweating.

My chest tightened. The image shifted again to Elsa organizing healers, directing evacuations, comforting frightened children, and giving orders to soldiers twice her age, somehow managing all of it at once. Then Cassian appeared, lightning exploding across a street as he blasted cultists backward. A healer attempted to treat his injuries, but Cassian immediately walked away, leaving the healer looking ready to throw something at him. Several Hollow Guards laughed, even now. Still Cassian. Still impossible.

“Because until now, none of this mattered. I didn’t have allies. I didn’t have Cassian. I didn’t have anyone I could trust with the truth. If I had spoken his name before, it would’ve gotten him killed. Or me.” Cassian finally spoke, his voice low, grounding. “She’s right.” The others turned to him, but he didn’t waver. His arm brushed against mine as he leaned forward. “Lucien isn’t someone we can fight alone. Even with everything we’ve revealed, even with Drasa’s strength and my curse, we’re not enough. But Eryndor? If he’s alive, if he’s willing… he changes everything.” Andra groaned, burying her face in her hands. “Or he drags us into an even bigger mess than we already are.”

I fought my way through the chaos, Jesse at my side, his icy powers cutting a path through the opposing forces. "We're here to get you out, Cassian," I replied, my voice firm with resolve. "We can't let them keep you captive." Cassian nodded, his gaze flickering to Jesse, acknowledgment and gratitude evident in his eyes. "I don't know how you found me, but I'm glad you did. These warriors, they're like nothing I've ever faced before." With renewed determination, we stood side by side, a united front against the unknown enemy. The clash of swords, the crackle of magic, and the cries of battle surrounded us, but amidst the turmoil, our bond remained unbreakable.

The future that might be. Ellie standing tall as Luna, power balanced and sure with Nolan beside her. The twins older, laughing, chasing each other through Moonstone’s halls. Cassian grown into his role as Alpha, burdened but steady, a partner at his side. A future. One he would not be part of.

The machine halts inches before Cassian is sucked into the chamber. I cut the straps. He drops into my arms. "You're okay," I sob. "You're okay." Then— A gun cocks. Sierra stands behind us. Face bloodied. Eyes glinting. "You shouldn't have come alone," she said. Cassian coughs. "We didn't." A red dot appears on her forehead. Followed by another. And then another. Pandora steps into the light. So does Malik. And behind them— Roman Creed.

He smiled brightly and looked at me. "His birth name is Rainier Faris Draco, mine is Cassian Cyrus Aeron," he stated firmly and I nodded. "People would call him Rainy or say it's going to Rain today, stupid shit like that until he blew a gasket and shredded them all," Cassian stated and shrugged. I thanked him and Everett came in asking if we were ready to travel to the Southern Clans. We all nodded and gathered our things. I said Rouge, well Rainier and smiled at him, making him wonder what was going on which in turn made me chuckle more. I walked over to him and grinned.
