Raven was groaning with his back arched, gripping his right thigh. "Raven! What’s wrong?" Gia rushed to the bed without thinking. "It hurts like hell!" Raven shouted, his eyes staring aimlessly. "Wait, wait... I can't see! Why is this room so dark?!" Such a large room shouldn’t only have a dim bedside lamp. *CLAP!* Raven clapped his hands once, and the lights turned on brightly. Bima whispered, his eyes squeezed shut. Arka's voice was so deep, so masculine. There was a possessive undertone tucked into every lyric. Arka wasn't singing for the world; he was singing to claim Bima's sanity. The vibration of that voice gave Bima intense goosebumps. He could imagine Arka's Adam's apple moving up and down, his sharp jawline, and his dark eyes staring blankly at the ceiling while recording this. In the silence of the night, that voice felt like the stroke of Arka's hand along his ribs.

There was no way she was going to ruin it for him now. As she walked to Adam’s house without the usual spring in her step, Alice loaded up her playlist of Spotify. It was set to shuffle, but of course, the first song that came on was ‘Adam’s song,’ by Blink 182; a song that could make her cry at the best of times. She skipped it and the next song was ‘Brother,’ by Falling in Reverse; a song that always made her cry without fail. “Do I not have a happier playlist in here?” Alice muttered to herself. She skipped through her phone until she found a ‘fightier’ song to inspire her.

By the time we got to the Karaoke place, we were feeling no pain. We ordered several rounds of drinks and went through all the karaoke standards: Livin' on a Prayer, I Love Rock N Roll, What's Up (4 Non Blondes), Total Eclipse of the Heart, Baby Got Back, Like A Prayer. I did a solo rendition of Tainted Love, which I was actually kind of proud of. But then Fiona and Victoria put my performance to shame with a legitimately impressive rendition of Hold On by Wilson Phillips, alternating vocals throughout. I was really seeing a different side of Victoria now, relaxed and fun.

Not on karaoke night. “Taryn!” I raise my hand and wave it, catching her attention. Her eyes light up and she smiles when she sees me, tapping Blake on the shoulder and pointing at me with her chin. Taryn says something to her, but I can’t make her words out over the goddess awful rendition of “Love is a Battlefield” someone is cursing the bar with.
