One moment, we glared at each other for long. A lump formed in my chest as I suddenly realized how beautiful Raven was.

He spoke quietly. It seemed that, unlike Arden, he knew how to keep his anger on a leash. Yet my heart raced wildly against my chest because of what I heard. If this involved my mother and me, did that mean these people had a hidden motive? or Mr. Ravenchi?

Gods, just kill me now. He takes out another paper. “Your name?” For a moment my brain stops functioning. Completely. My lungs forget how to breathe. Is he serious right now? I take two seconds too long to answer. “Raven,” I finally say, pointedly. His pen moves again across the page. “Raven,” he repeats slowly.

I did send you to him, remember?” Raven looked up, her gaze matching mine. "I did not kill him, Alpha Fenrir. I swear it." I took a step closer, my voice dropping to a low menacing growl. "You expect me to believe that? You, were the last person to meet with him…and all of a sudden he is dead. Common Raven make this easy for the both of us.” Raven's face lost its color, but she stood her ground. "I didn't kill him, Alpha. I'm telling the truth. How can a weakling like me kill an alpha like Damien?”

What the hell were they talking about? “I swear I don’t know anything,” I whispered desperately. “I don’t even know who Ravens is.” One of the men barked out a laugh. “Damn. She really clueless.” “Not our fucking problem,” another muttered. The gun pressed harder into my skin and my breathing immediately turned shaky again. “You hear that, Ravens?” the man said into the phone. “Fourteen hours before we paint the floor with her brains.”

Raven looked up in surprise, only to see Knight's eyes flickering -- Rain pressed to the surface and it was him talking! "Uhh..." Raven suddenly got nervous in front of Rain. He had never met Rain before, or rather, Rain never showed himself on the surface. Rain and Knight seemed to have a superb bond where they never argues nor fight for control. "You know me, little wolf," Rain wrapped his arms around Raven's shivering shoulders, "I have been with you this whole time, you know?" "..." Raven only felt more embarrassed, to know that a stranger actually watched him having sex for quite a while.

Raven grumbled, hoping for a quiet morning before heading to work since she had an eleven o’clock class that morning at the University. Approaching the door with caution, Raven hesitated before calling out, “Who’s there?” After the previous night's events, she couldn't be too careful. “Open the damn door, Raven!” her friend Katherine barked from the other side. Raven breathed a sigh of relief as she opened the door to greet her friend. Katherine was the only friend Raven had made since moving to Avalon city and working at the university, where Katherine worked in a different department. Despite the tumultuous week, having Katherine around had made the adjustment period easier.

Vixen replied. “He must have been a good boy,” Raven commented under his breath, and exchanged a smirk with Shadow like naughty schoolboys. Raven hunched his shoulders, flushing, when he caught Vice watching him. “Shadow is Vixen’s sub,” he muttered. Vice met Victor’s eyes, obviously thinking the same thing as Victor. This was getting interesting. They had known Raven for over ten years, and he had spoken to them both about his parents and upbringing, so they understood Raven’s complex relationship with his sexuality, and had been waiting for him to come out for almost as long as they had known him.

But then, just as they thought they had seen it all, another image appeared, one that made their hearts skip a beat. Another picture slowly materialized, and the council members' jaws dropped in unison. It was King Raphael, the reigning monarch of the planet Xanthea, a being of unparalleled power and wisdom. But it was the words beneath his image that left Aethon stunned, his eyes wide with shock. "Mate bonded to Raven Delacroix," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion, "not yet unlocked."
