Kate keeps examining the lone sheet of paper like a bingo player with a bingo card. “Think, Kate. Think,” she tells herself. “Try to recall everything you learned from that book.” The book she’s referring to is Codes, Ciphers, Steganography & Secret Messages, which she got from Booksale, a secondhand bookstore. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath to calm her nerves. When she opens her eyes again, her line of sight falls on the photo of her and the Bali Girls. Then her eyes jump to the words in the letter:

"I'm sorry, ma'am. I'll try to do better next time." Camille took a deep breath, trying to calm down. She shouldn’t let this get to her. "Emily, I think I can help you improve," Camille said, a hint of kindness creeping into her voice. "Let me show you something." Camille walked over to her desk and opened a drawer, retrieving a small, leather-bound journal. It was Kate's journal, filled with notes, schedules, and tips on managing Camille's busy life. "This was Kate's bible," Camille explained, handing the journal to Emily. "She used it to keep track of my schedule, appointments, and deadlines. Study this, and you'll learn how Kate managed everything so efficiently."

I already balanced the accounts from yesterday and started on today's reports. I stand, the pins and needles from sitting too long-running hot up and down my legs. Opening the door, little Eurydice is standing at the entrance. "I'm done with today's studies! Ready to play Hide and Seek, Jessa?" I can only smile at the little girl's energy. "I'll start counting when we reach the courtyard, little mistress," I tell her with a big smile. I reach out my hand, and Eurydice grabs it without hesitation. We walk in companionable silence towards the courtyard. I am passing murals of the underworld on the way.

Though the first book does not have Max and Deanna i will tie in to the insanity series with the second book which i will begin writing in early 2021.
