Melinda’s POV I almost didn’t answer the call. The number was local, but I didn’t recognize it. And I’d gotten too used to ignoring things with no name attached. But something — instinct, maybe — told me to pick up. “Melinda Holt?” a man asked. I paused. “Yes. Who’s this?” A breath. Then: “My name is Daniel Holt. I’m Andrew’s brother.” I didn’t speak. Not at first. Because Andrew had never mentioned a brother. Not once. Not during the marriage. Not during the divorce. Not even during the custody battle.

Landon countered, turning to her and drawing her into his arms. A future… This is what Aiden should be planning instead of how to make Skyler Belmont squirm. Jorge gave her a questioning look, and she remembered that he did not know what was going on with Anita. “Anita found her biological brother, and he goes by the name Javier Mendoza.” “Mendoza as in Mendoza International Arms Trading and Travel?” Jorge asked with wide eyes. “Yup, that’s the one.” Meryl nodded. “Wow. That’s huge.” Jorge breathed. “But why was Anita crying earlier?” He frowned.

He ruffled my hair gently, I rolled my eyes and rearranged it. “She invited him to hang out though." I muttered. “Caelum and Melissa have a complicated past, he was there for her in her darkest times but I assure you, Melissa's heart has always belonged to Caelum's brother.” I had always been curious about Caelum's brother and that was finally my chance to know more. “Did you know Caelum's brother?" I asked, eager to know more about Caelum's mystery brother. He chuckled sadly, “he was like my elder brother. We grew up together, him, Caelum and I. We always had a plan for the future, he was going to be the alpha and Caelum and I, his two betas.”

I just shook my head and let them help, and while working, I couldn't help but notice that someone was missing. "Where's your little angel?" I asked when I didn't see Bran-bran. Ram gave his son the nickname "Bran-bran," but his real name is Brandon Kiel Santiago, and I am one of his godmothers. "He's with his uncle and auntie. You know how much they adore our son, I mean, who wouldn't adore such a handsome man," he said sounding so proud, and I couldn't agree more. "You're bragging about our son again," Atilla murmured, yet I could hear the pride in her voice.

A bit of a scatterbrain at other times but people she was great. “So I have a brother and a sister. Brock and Andrea. They’re great. I live with my brother. It’s cheaper that way. “Zayn and Melisa, Ashton, his brother and a few others” Okay, that sounded good, I got along well with Melisa and Zayn but it was Ashton who always made everything okay. I’d met Ashton through our mutual friends and we’d taken to one another right from the start. He was a brother and a best friend all rolled into one. It will only burden you with more guilt, please try to understand me.”

I exaggerated my sarcasm, hitting every nerve by referring to Matthew as her brother. The employees in the room would laugh whenever I said “brother.” Everyone knew Melanie had seduced her brother. Sure enough, many also knew the two were not blood-related. Still, they grew up as siblings. "You shut up!" Melanie caught my sarcasm and stomped toward me. "What, are you here just to argue with me? Are you upset that your brother got me the project? Don't be so petty. I heard you're cozying up to Echelon Group. Is that single contract worth all this fuss?

He wipes a tear with his finger and I roll my eyes. Drama king. "I know most of you think I hate my brother," he continues , "but I don't. Infact, my fight with him at my engagement party was because of her." I frown. Where is this headed? He stares into the camera, "Sara Jane is a manipulative liar and schemer and today I come out to free myself from her treacherous web and also pull the wool from my brother's eyes. Today," He pauses. "I come out to say that she," his eyes bores into the camera, peering at me like he was there with me in the room.
