I didn't send you to law school only to come back and settle with a single mother!"

AUTHOR’S POV “Where is– Ohh!” Odessa threw her head back as Kieran was eating her through her very light underwear. The Lycan King looked insane and possessed as he licked, sucked, and proved her through her underwear. Kieran growled, almost impatiently, as he gripped the sides of her underwear and tugged hard, tearing the flimsy wear in two. She says nothing though, just quietly listens to Kian's stories, the same ones he's been repeating since he got home, although they seem to be getting more exaggerated with each account and by the time we head to bed, I'm pretty sure his new team are unbeatable world champions and someone called Charlie is King of all land and sea. I'm happy for him though and even more grateful to Kim for setting it all up, I'm going to have to find a way to thank her.

All the weeks of fear, confusion, and violation coalesced into a single, white-hot point of pure hatred.

He looked down at his leg, then back at me, muttering again under his breath, “I’m fine.” “What are you doing here with him?” Kieran demanded from behind. I froze, my heart thudding as I turned toward the entrance of the terrace. Kieran stood there, shoulders stiff, eyes flicking from me to Alpha Lawrence. Alpha Lawrence didn’t flinch. He straightened, no trace of the limp left in his step. “You should thank her,” he said calmly. “Because of her, you’ve just gained my alliance.” Kieran’s brows drew together. “What do you mean?”

“And what makes you think you have any other choice, Leah Callahan?” “Sign the partnership. You get lawyers, muscle, the full power of Vorreth. We split the profits. And as a very personal bonus…” His eyes gleamed with hunger. “…you get to watch Cain on his knees, begging the wife he treated like garbage to spare his dying empire.” I swallowed hard, fighting the dark rush of satisfaction from that image and the even darker heat Kieran was stirring up inside me.
