Nausea churned within and spots flashed in my vision.
“Let her know you don’t really care,” she demanded as she yanked another handful of daisies.
I held a hand up to her, trying and failing to shake my head as spots danced in my vision. I watched through bleary eyes as she moved to different plots: phlox, peonies, hydrangeas, and the bits of lavender sprinkled throughout each area. By the time she stopped, I was on all fours, a marred and trembling mess. I forced myself to meet her gaze and shook my head as she smiled cruelly and stopped at a low hanging branch of the cherry blossom tree.
