I smiled at Alison while Karla was horrified. "I brought something to eat while we talk and have some fun, right Karla!" I winked at her. While they were eating quietly with just their utensils clicking can be heard I slowly opened my bag and pulled out Karla's first sketch of Windle. It's beautiful sketching for a handsome man as well. I waited for them to almost finish their meal before putting the sketch on the table beside Karla. "It's beautiful and perfect! I can put it in a frame!" I beamed admiring her work. She gasp, grabbing the paper, and crumpled it.

“For what?” Keila’s “art show” was three pieces of construction paper taped to the wall of her hospital room. One was a bright yellow sun. One was a green blob she said was a dinosaur. The third was a tall, black rectangle next to a small, pink stick figure. “That’s you at your new work,” she said, pointing proudly. Luther stood in the doorway, a massive, incongruous shape against the pastel hallway. He didn’t come in. He just looked at the pictures, his face unreadable.

I couldn't resist sketching Kiara a few times; she was too adorable when she curled up next to me and dozed off, or when she would lie on her back while playing with a mouse toy. There were moments when my hand seemed to have a mind of its own, producing a drawing that surprised me once I finished. It would be of him, more specifically his piercing golden-brown eyes. I would have several pages of him in my sketchbook and not miss a single detail when it came to his tattoos.

It was not a request. "Or what?" Kelsey sneered. She held the notebook up high, out of reach. She looked down at the open page. Her eyes scanned it and she let out an ugly laugh. "You're not even writing the apology! You're drawing!" She laughed again, a harsh sound. "You're drawing stupid little pictures! Skulls and stuff! What a freak!" My heart started to pound against my ribs. "Kelsey, don't—" I started to say.

“No smirking either, stay still.” Levi tried to hold his expression, though the amusement danced in his blue eyes. Kaliyah bit her lower lip slightly as she focused, her pencil gliding over the page. Every now and then, she looked up at him, studied his profile, and returned to the sketchbook with determined strokes. After a few minutes, she let out a soft exhale and held up the sketch. “Done!” Levi leaned forward and took a look. His brows lifted in surprise, and then he laughed softly, impressed. “Kaliyah… this actually looks like me.”

"I know Kelli didn't tell you. I've barely spoken to her about it." "When your things were brought here, I noticed several notebooks full of sketches." Finally setting down the water bottle, he moves to the squat rack and settles the bar on the range of muscles that make up his shoulders. Cassidy scolded. Joel looked at his brother and licked the ice cream once more. Then he revealed mercilessly, “Mom, he already ate two ice creams.” He implied that he could have another one. Cassidy was left speechless. “Here are the latest sketches, Cassidy. Look. These are the ones I leaked. You can point out their flaws,” Rodel said. Cassidy took the sketches and flipped through them. Since summer was about to end, the drawings were all about autumn clothing, mostly trench coats and turtlenecks.
