Maybe it's the strange symbols carved into the window frames, or the peculiar arrangement of the furniture that seems to form patterns on the floor. Or maybe it's the large, leather-bound book displayed on a wooden stand in the center of the desk, open to a page filled with handwritten text and diagrams of the night sky. I approach slowly, as if the book might snap shut on my fingers like a trap. The page shows a chart of celestial bodies, with a date circled in red ink: November 15, 2025. Less than a month from now. Next to the date, in my mother's precise handwriting: "Convergence. Blackwood returns. Find the girl."

Zelda. Brenda's hands tightened on my shoulders. "Remember what I said? It ends here," she hissed. I swallowed hard and fretfully turned back to look behind me, I wanted to push her off me but I also knew that any wrong move from me would make the situation worse. Suddenly, A car screeched loudly to a halt nearby, distracting Brenda momentarily. As she turned, a stranger emerged—a man with blazing golden eyes. My gazes locked on his, and a surge of energy coursed through me. Strength I'd never known surged through my limbs.

The study was big and spacious with a couch on each side of the room, and in the middle of the room were Kai’s desk and chair, beside his chair, and at the side of the office were shelves filled with books. I walked to the shelf behind his chair, since I was going to wait for him, I might as well keep myself busy by reading a book. I was looking through the books on the shelves when a book caught my attention from the corner of my eye. Sitting at the table was a really old looking book. I picked it up and read the title. “Curses” I read out loud, wondering what a book for witches was doing in Kai’s room. I opened the book to where it was bookmarked and saw a familiar curse. I saw how they all looked each other as if I said something was strange. They shook their head in disapproval. Jeremy leaned back in his seats. "The curse was laid upon him by someone of the old religion. He needs someone in that bloodline to break it. That's where Freda comes in. Maybe he just want to keep her close so he can torture you. This much info, I'd what we have. That curse was on his for a reason. He also needs the book to complete the spell." I nodded. "It would be difficult to get the book since I don't know where it is. I just have to protect everyone somehow."

These books held the answers we’d been looking for in the last few months, and despite them being a blur, I knew in my heart that this was it. The thoughts running through my head were wild, but somehow exhaustion took over me, and my eyes slowly shut in the next minutes that followed.

She seemed uncomfortable when Sire came in, shuffling back a few steps as he bent his head to enter. I don't blame her... "Do you have anything?" I ask, staring down at the book she also gave me to read. The words, strung together like some other language, swim in front of me. This is impossible to decipher. She lets out a frustrated growl. "Nothing reliable." Every now and again her gaze flickers up warily to Sire. He paces incessantly behind me, which seems to be unnerving my friend. "We are running out of time," I exclaim. Day by day people are dying, and the guilt from knowing I unleashed this curse weighs heavily on my shoulders.

I couldn't see his face but I knew, my thundering heart could feel it was him. I tried to open my eyes until I saw the burning chapel and people panicking. What happened? I looked up at the man who was carrying me. I stared at him until my vision got clearer and I met his eyes; it was him. I held his cheeks as my .tears started falling again. I remembered everything. "I--love... you," I whispered. I felt my back on the ambulance bed. I closed my tingling eyes again as I felt dizzy. But now I remembered everything, we have been cursed.

Gates flooded inside his mind and the doors that he currently went through are still not enough to see everything and the plan at the very end at hand, yet is bringing him the chill and excitement he surely is loving more than ever. ‘A verse yet to see, read it aloud, and there it comes to a death angel who will claim your soul.’ Taken by the words and the depiction that took him more than the wonder and the truth out of the facts of the other verses, that are the howling stance of the book they are all running in a circle from. He draws a Cheshire-like smile unto his face, as he flips the pages of the book once more. Arriving unto that certain place where the curse is looming from within.
