Hermes's voice, though she could not see him anywhere. The Speedverse was the world where the gods and the Celestials lived, a planet far out in the cosmos—in another universe. It was actually at the epicenter—there was no other world like it, despite its existence in the multiverse. She could see beings going about their business. Some had wings. . .others were strong and big. . .others wore crowns on their heads. . .

"After that, the choice becomes mine, not yours." In the physical realm, Aria fell to her knees as the weight of this new threat became clear. Just when they had thought they had solved the problem, just when they had finally created a society based on genuine choice, they had discovered that the entire multiverse was built as a feeder system for something even larger. "We can't win," she whispered to herself. "No matter what we choose, no matter how hard we fight, we're going to end up consumed or erased or transcended without consent."

It was a living, breathing, and yes, sometimes unfinished, melody that was now being played by a million different voices, in a million different ways, across the length and breadth of the multiverse. The music was not complete. And for the first time, Kaelen understood that this was the most beautiful thing about it.

“Because the other side isn’t ready. The version of Kai sending signals—it’s bait. They’re not survivors. They’re scouts.” Evryn’s eyes narrowed. “Scouts for what?” Aurex answered darkly. “A multiversal purge.” Everyone froze. “Wait,” Kai said slowly. “You’re saying there are versions of us across timelines—and now some force wants to… erase us?” Aurex nodded. “Not us. The ones who evolved beyond the Seed. We’re anomalies now. And anomalies can’t be allowed to spread.” Evryn clenched her fists. “So this—” she gestured to the gate “—this was never about connection. It was containment. Or worse—extermination.”

Elara, taking a step forward, asked, "Althor? Is it really you? What do you mean?" Althor chuckled, the sound echoing eerily around them. "Meranthia is saved, but the fabric of the multiverse is tearing. The Eclipsion was but a prelude. There are darker, more formidable forces awakening. Forces that even the guardians may not be able to withstand." Seraphina, defiantly, retorted, "Whatever challenges lie ahead, we'll face them together." Althor's eyes, now deep pools of void, met hers. "We shall see, young guardian. For now, remember this: as one chapter ends, another begins, and the story of the multiverse is far from over."

The woman tilts her neck to the side, as if asking why she is there. Emanuele's heart is beating fast. There she was, staring at her lost twin...the twin sold, trafficked, when she had mere seconds to live. The sister who could have been a support in the girl's life, someone to help her when Margaret's mistreatment, punishment and humiliation crushed her against the wall. Emanuele, as a young girl, had read an article about the multiverse theory, which implied that there were several different dimensions; several versions of herself. Could it be that in one of them, Margaret was not a narcissistic wretch who ended the lives of her own daughters?

So, everything began because Radomir launched a coup, killed his master, and became the sole ruler of this universe. He was now more curious about the other universes. “Since ours is the Twelfth Universe, what do the other universes look like?” Melinda shook her head and said, “I’m not sure. Though I’m Hadad’s daughter, I have never been to other universes. As such, I have no idea what it’s like over there. I only know that we are the weakest universe. The others have a handful of Ancestral Gods, whereas ours only have a single one. If only…”

It made the crime lord feel like she was in control again. “I’ve heard about parallel universes,” Bryan whispered out while gazing down at Irena’s face and finding himself falling in love with the face he had been missing and dreaming about. “Well, I’m from a parallel universe,” Irena told Bryan while pointing at herself and looking up at Bryan with a sly smile on her lips. “They call it the multiverse, where there are multiple universes that contain multiple copies of the planet Earth. In those copies of Earth, there’s a copy of each of us. It’s like having a twin who lives in another universe on another Earth.” Irena hoped she was explaining things well to Bryan. Their trip to the World’s Fair had been like visiting an alternate existence. It went beyond simply politely 'familiar'. That had been an imaginary World of Tomorrow where the natural hierarchy and boundaries of wealth and social status had been erased, like the idealized Democracity or the egalitarian Futurama. Where people attracted to one another were free to explore that gift in each other's company without question.
