LIAM'S POV I had walked right into the hall before the whole chaos began. A gunship fired and the noises which followed after… for a minute I had hoped Kaden was shit but to my greatest surprise… I walked in to see nova on the floor with blood oozing out from her side.perplexed as to why anyone would be foolish enough to target nova. For the First time I see Kaden really weak, scared and freaking out.he looks paralyzed by the sight before him.

The back door leads to an alley. Where five Council operatives wait. "Going somewhere?" The leader raises his weapon. Kade shifts immediately. His wolf forms tears into the nearest operative before anyone can fire. Jamie shifts too. They fight with desperate efficiency. But Jamie's still weak from earlier. One operative gets behind her and fires. The bullet grazes her side and she goes down. Kade's immediately there, protecting her. His wolf form is massive, all teeth and fury. The operative aims for his head. A silver shield explodes between them. The bullet bounces harmlessly away.

But nothing about today had been human. I sat back, watching the way Novel’s hair seemed to shimmer with a faint silver light, even in the shadows. “My girl,” I smiled. I kissed her forehead one last time before stepping out to check the perimeter. The camp was silent; the battle was won, but the mystery of what Novel truly was had only just begun.

A few picture of people in black suits shown in the screens, their faces cold and unreadable. Nova guided me forward. “Stay cool. They can smell fear.” I whispered, “You’re serious?” He didn’t answer which told me He was dead serious. A woman approached us first. He looked around thirty, tall, with silver hair tied back tight and eyes that could probably kill a man with a glance. “New recruit?” she asked flatly. Nova nodded. “K-1087. Kieran Wilson. Survived Round One.” The woman looked me up and down. “It obvious but not bad. Most die within the first ten minutes.”

Katherine sniffed, wiping the tears from the tip of her nose. *...you think having an operation right now without a deposit. I took in a sharp inhale of breath when I saw the same detailed pattern that was on the dagger Kyan had shown me. ‘The hunters’ was all it said on the front, the same book Kyan and Zekan had spent days looking for.
