The Luna's Second Fate
The creature shrieked, a sound that shattered windows throughout the fortress, and vanished between realms.
Kael collapsed, finally free, but the curse remained.
"Three days," he gasped. "I'm sorry. I fought it as long as I could."
I gathered Zane in my arms as nurses rushed in to help Kael. My mate was in the worst pain I'd ever seen, and I couldn't heal him because the curse wasn't something my magic could touch.
"Three days," he ground out. "We have three days before they come again."
"Then we have three days to prepare," I said.
