Kane growled again. The threat didn't make me flinch. I made sure my unwavering eyes stayed locked onto his, and I let a slow, deliberate smile spread across my face. I think this was when he finally snapped. Spinning slowly on his heel, he ground the leather of his boots against the concrete, thudding toward the heavy iron door, with echoing footsteps. Gripping the edge with both fists, he slammed it shut with a deafening, metallic BOOM that shook the very foundations of the building, jamming the top bolt into place with a loud, final CLANK, then drove the bottom one home with a savage, brutal kick.

The boots were made of leather and had low heels, making them practical for walking on uneven streets or any kind of terrain. Next, I put on the inner jacket which also had a high collar, its soft velvety texture shining in the candlelight as I closed the large silver colored buttons. After combing my hair thoroughly and putting on a bit of light makeup, recalling the details and steps Grace had given to me a thousand times, I was ready.

"She also said you needed these." The black combat boots in his hands were practical, sturdy, and looked like they could do some damage if I ever needed to kick someone while wearing them. They were essentially my dream shoes. I crossed the tent to accept the boots. "Thanks." A quick glance at the tag revealed they were the perfect size for my feet. I wasn't about to question my stroke of good fortune. To my delight, there was also a pair of thick socks tucked into one of the boots. Sitting down in the chair, I began the task of sliding my freezing feet into the socks and then proceeded to lace up the boots.

The silver weave catches the torchlight, emphasizing the lean, powerful contours of my chest and the clean line of my collarbones, sharp as hunting blades. "Did you honestly think I wouldn't recognize royal tailoring, little sister?" I whisper to the empty room, sliding my feet into the towering silver-rimmed boots. They are ridiculously high, designed to force a wolf into a tense, ready-to-strike posture, but my balance is absolute. I take three silent paces across the stone floor. Perfect.

I look up at the back door with wide eyes, shocked to see Kent standing there, leaning against the frame with his arms crossed. “Put those on,” he says. “We have somewhere to be.” Frowning, I lift the box into my lap and open the top, gasping a little as I see a pair of the most gorgeous boots. They’re tall, nearly knee-high, and made of supple black leather with a delicate little buckle around the ankle. “Where are we going?” I ask, my face lighting up. Honestly, I don’t care – out of the house it sounds like, so I’m thrilled either way.

He sighs and calls back, “Sorry, I’m not sure which ones.” She comes and leans on the doorframe, he’s lined them up, but is now staring at a rank of black leather boots, he looks up at her looking puzzled. She smirks, “The heaviest ones.” He nods, and lifts them one by one. He smiles when he finds them. “They have steel toes and thick soles to protect my feet when I ride.” He nods, and she goes back to her seat on the bed. He kneels in front of her again and holds out a boot to her. She undoes the clasps so he can see, then he does the other boot. Sliding it onto her foot, doing up the clasps again.

' Evelyn thought to herself emitting a small bit of laughter. "Alright remember ladies if they try getting frisky aim for the balls and run! I even brought my steel toes!" Kendra cheered raising her feet and sure enough she was wearing a pair of boots. She began swinging her leg around as if testing her kicking range. "Yup we are good to go!" Kendra said beaming ear to ear.

He pushed open the entrance door, and it was locked. “Zoey.” He banged on the door multiple times, but there was no response. He took a couple of steps back. Good thing his Balenciaga lace up boots could literally crush the human skull. Almost running, he raised his feet up , the sole of his boot connecting with the door. He repeated the move three more times and in no time, the door was disconnected from its hinges. Immediately, he heard loud screams. He heard the sound of bone literally connecting with flesh.
