Kate POV “I Challenge Katelyn Adams for the Alpha title of the Golden Moon Pack!”. I couldn’t believe what I had heard. It was resonating through my mind, without fully comprehending. Looking into the crowd I wait for the voice to come forward. It’s familiar but with the crowd who jumped up loudly the voice was lost in the crowd.

"I didn't say anything." "I was not talking to you." I straightened my shoulders. "Whatever Derrik told you .... whatever he sent you here for .... I'm not going back. My son and I are not going back. Tell him.... " "Kristen ." He had crossed the street. I hadn't seen him move .... one moment he was there, and then he was here, close enough that I could smell him properly now, which was a mistake, because he smelled like pine resin and cold open air and something underneath that made my wolf press against my ribs so hard I had to consciously straighten my spine to keep from leaning toward it. Blue: Kristen walked through the trade lands. The red sand kicked up into her shoes. She grumbled as the wind kicked it up around her. The two soldiers she brought with her walked behind her looking about. It had been so long since she had left the pack land. Arkyn liked her to stay close. Now she was casted aside for a mindless useless task. She hated Alice, every part of her wished she would just disappear. Kristen walked through the trade tents her hands clenched in fist as she was looking for a fabric tent or dress shop. They had made a quick stop in the town before the trading post. She had pretended to not be feeling well in order to send word to Red River. The boy at the gas station

Mira asked in surprise. Dylan nodded. "Actually, I just found out. I helped him find his wife. I was also surprised to learn that your friend is married to your brother." "K-Kristen? Where is she?" Mira asked worriedly. Dylan immediately pointed to where Kristen was, and Mira went to her. She found Kristen sitting on the bed, seemingly lost in thought. She approached her and asked, "Kristen, are you okay?" Kristen remained silent, not responding. Unbeknownst to Mira, Kristen was currently battling conflicting thoughts and didn't know what to think anymore.

"Miss Kristen you are very close to Amber do you know what happened to her? Is she sick from something toxic? Is it cancer?" One of the reporters asked, Kristen kept quiet but as soon as she stood in front of Crimson she turned to face the reporters again. "No my friend is not sick! In fact she was doing quiet well in the music room where we had just recorded one of the lead songs for our upcoming album, Crimson being the youngest was asked to get us some refreshments but then after drinking the coffee Crimson got us Amber began to cough badly and fell sick terribly." Kristen snapped, she shot daggers at Crimson who stood transfixed in one spot as tears rolled down her eyes.

Typical Kristen. “Yeah, exactly. It’s all become so routine,” she complains with another sigh. Kristen’s not a player so to speak but she loves the chase. Once the chase is over and the “couples” life starts, Kristen gets bored. No man has managed to keep her attention for more than a few months. Zeke was the longest - three months. It was probably because he adores her and the poor guy has no clue. I admit I pity him just a bit but then I end up pitying most of the guys she dates.

Kristen? She let out a loud hiss. "I am not here to see you, smart mouth." She directed her gaze at Brandon who I caught stifling a chuckle a while ago while staring at me. "I am leaving tomorrow for an emergency business trip. So, I am pulling out of whatever game they paired us with." She stated, giving Brandon a condescending gaze that got me shaking my head while my gaze flickered to Kristen. I gave him an is-this-the-best-you-can-do look for a few seconds, noting his helpless sigh before looking away.

“What do you mean you did something terrible?” Crystal swallowed hard. The confession clawed its way up to her throat. “I have… been in contact with Rissa.” She choked. Kristen froze. She almost laughed, hoping her ears were playing tricks on her. “Wait… hold on.” She paused. “Please tell me it’s not the same Rissa. Not Briella’s evil sister.” Crystal’s shaky nod said it all it. Kristen’s chest caved in. “What did she ask you?” Kristen’s voice was careful, almost pleading, searching for a good answer... something that would prove Crystal wasn’t going to turn out to be a traitor, but Kristen’s gut already knew, Crystal’s face said it all.

Kristen was thrown on an iron chair and that made his back and body hurt. By now, Kristen was sure that they were in the middle of nowhere because his wristwatch stopped beeping. It usually beeped slightly when it sensed a new location as well as a new temperature. Kristen wondered whether they were going to come out of that place before it was too late.
