Bound by Voices
She stared at her reflection, whispering, “If you’re still listening, whoever you are — tell me what you want.”
At first, nothing. Then faintly — the mirror rippled, and words formed in fog across the glass:
> “Understand.”
Mira’s throat tightened. “Understand what?”
The fog swirled again.
> “Love.”
She blinked. “Oh no. No, no, no. You do not get to make this romantic.”
> “Love rewrites law.”
“Excuse me?!”
> “Law rewrites curse.”
And before she could answer, the reflection changed — now showing Adrian, asleep, his hand resting over his heart, the faint blue glow of their bond pulsing beneath his skin.
